Winner of the Rosetta Literary Contest 2012 and author of five historical novels, Ginger Myrick was born and raised in Southern California. She is a self-described wife, mother, animal lover, and avid reader. Along with the promotion for INSATIABLE: A MACABRE HISTORY OF FRANCE ~ L'AMOUR: MARIE ANTOINETTE, BUT FOR THE GRACE OF GOD, WORK OF ART, THE WELSH HEALER, and EL REY, she is currently crafting novel #6. She is a Christian who writes meticulously researched historical fiction with a 'clean' love story at the core. She hopes to show the reading community that a romance need not include graphic details to convey deep love and passion.

This will actually be the first volume—Marie Antoinette’s story being number four—in what looks like a six part rewrite of French history. My WIP centers around Catherine de’ Medici and will explain the genesis of the mysterious plague turning ordinary French citizens into the mort-vivant. I had originally intended to write the books in chronological order but thought I might garner more interest with such a flamboyant figure as Marie Antoinette. It didn’t quite work out the way I anticipated, but everything in its time.(less)

There have been times when a certain scene wasn’t cooperating or I couldn’t find the exact words to express my meaning, but I’ve never reached a complete halt of progress with no idea where to go next. When those minor moments of frustration strike, one option is to just keep plowing forward, knowing that I can always make changes during an editing pass. Another way I deal with a stumble, if it entails a larger section, is to work on a different scene that is fully formed in my mind. Accomplishment spurs productivity. If you feel like you’re making progress, you’ll push yourself to reach for more. In the words of Tyra Banks, “Fake it ‘til you make it!”(less)

Another New Year

Wow! Where has the time gone? Another year has flown by, and I still haven’t been able to finish my current work in progress. I will spare the excuses and only say that if I thought 2015 was rough, at least I was blissfully unaware of what 2016 would bring. In short, it was heartbreaking, but at least things seem to be back on track. Unfortunately, I never recouped my momentum where the writing is Read more of this blog post »

“How stupid lovers can be! But if they were not, there would be no story.”
Jean Plaidy, The Courts of Love

William Shakespeare
“Journeys end in lovers meeting,
Every wise man's son doth know.”
William Shakespeare, Twelfth Night

Pat Conroy
“We children sat transfixed before that moon our mother had called forth from the waters. When the moon had reached its deepest silver, my sister, Savannah, though only three, cried aloud to our mother, to Luke and me, to the river and the moon, "Oh, Mama, do it again!" And I had my earliest memory.”
Pat Conroy, The Prince of Tides

Oscar Wilde
“The highest as the lowest form of criticism is a mode of autobiography. Those who find ugly meanings in beautiful things are corrupt without being charming. This is a fault.”
Oscar Wilde

Sherry Jones
“How many times in life have I been advised to "toe the line," to "tone it down," to stop "pushing the envelope"? As a journalist, I had to keep my opinions to myself for 30 years. I thought that, as an artist, I'd have the liberty to express my views. Now I'm told that doing so might hurt my readership.

I'm so idealistic, as I said elsewhere on FB today, that I think people ought to read my books because they're good. Period.”
Sherry Jones

David Sorry for not responding. Last few months have been manic. Having my 1st Pale Battalions - The Dark Land novel published at the first attempt has been quite surreal, but I'm beginning to enjoy it. Now at 'the find reviewers stage'. Still enjoying reading, and looking forward to sharing thoughts on novels.
Regards
David
