I confess, I'm a kidlit lover. I'm also the mother of two and grandmother of four. In addition to my day job, family, friends, book club, hiking, hobbies, and volunteer work, I love to read, and to write for children and teens. My short stories and articles have been published in a variety of magazines and anthologies, and my work has placed in a number of contests, but my greatest joy is writing picture books.

Going back in time to the first days of Lenox’s detective work was certainly interesting and fun. However, I found that the mystery itself wasn’t as intriguing as usual.

A lot of mean, angry people being jerks and yelling at each other. I’ve heard that the second book is much better but this book introduces you to the characters and situations,,so you have to read it first. I’m hoping that’s true.

I love Jane Harper’s books and eagerly anticipated this new one. I was sorely disappointed: slow, boring, underwhelming. It could have been so much more - especially with an author like Jane Harper.
