Author of The Story of Elthea's Realm series, which includes Elthea's Realm, Elthea's Gambit, Elthea's Parado, and Elthea's Nemesis.

I had previously crafted messages for organizations ranging from international brands to technology startups. That is until I decided to pen a story I could call my own. After leaving the corporate world in my role as high-tech marketing and sales manager, I concentrated on my true love of writing fiction.

I published my debut novel, Elthea’s Realm in 2017.

I write about magical places that have roots in the technology of our world. My characters are unlikely heroes who struggle with frailties and imperfections as they face malevolent forces. Many of my plot ideas stem from the unintended consequences of technolo

My background as a technology marketing manager played a significant role in how I developed this story. I spent many years promoting high-technology products such as semiconductors, fault-tolerant computer systems, big data storage, software applications, identity management, and a few other software and hardware technologies. I mined some of what I knew from my tech experience to develop a plausible background to this story even though Elthea’s Realm is primarily a fantasy. I’ve always enjoyed sweeping fantasy stories, particularly those that are linked to our real world. As a writer, I realize it’s a more difficult task starting in the real world and shifting the story to a fantasy land — it’s much easier to suspend reality right from the start and begin a story in some fictional setting. So I’m happy to hear you say that I accomplished it. I believe the approach I took makes the story more compelling. Plus I’m able to pose some interesting ‘what if’ questions about today’s technology. Book 2 of the series will be released early in 2018, and I will draw on topics such as cyberterrorism and artificial reality to enhance the background of the story. But like my first book, technology will be the backdrop for what will primarily be an adventure story in the fictional land of Elthea’s Realm.

A Winter's Tale

View this post on my website.

There’s something about winter that invites stories. For writers, it’s the time of year when we reflect more deeply—wondering where our narratives are headed.

Here in New England, the days are cold, and the prospect of snow is always present—and for many of us, anticipated with excitement.

This season reminds me of timeless winter stories—mostly fairy tales, legends, and Read more of this blog post »
