Just Okay. Nothing to write home about. I think I were more of a teenager I might have liked it more.
The Rake by Suzanne Enoch
" Started off so well, witty fun dialogue and interaction between the two characters. But good golly the middle and ending of the book was like wading through molasses in winter.

Kelly and 3 other people liked Mel's status update
Mel is on page 169 of 368 of I'll Be Gone in the Dark: I don't find this as captivating as others do, and I definitely feel like it's dragging now. It's very mundane, repetitive, and weirdly structured.
Kelly is starting Daughter of the Pirate King: Reading this as a buddy read and so far meh. I love books based on the ocean, but so far this is just okay.

Bernard M. Baruch
“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.”
Bernard M. Baruch

Knut Hamsun
“I suffered no pain, my hunger had taken the edge off; instead I felt pleasantly empty, untouched by everything around me and happy to be unseen by all. I put my legs up on the bench and leaned back, the best way to feel the true well-being of seclusion. There wasn't a cloud in my mind, nor did I feel any discomfort, and I hadn't a single unfulfilled desire or craving as far as my thought could reach. I lay with open eyes in a state of utter absence from myself and felt deliciously out of it.”
Knut Hamsun, Hunger

Jill S. Alexander
“All I'm saying is, you've never alone, and God made everyone unique with different gifts. Now that's not to say it doesn't sting a little when someone points yours out.”
Jill S. Alexander, The Sweetheart of Prosper County

Jane Borodale
“The only certain way to forge new understanding it to carry out investigations for oneself.”
Jane Borodale, The Book of Fires

Charles Bukowski
“My ambition is handicapped by laziness”
Charles Bukowski, Factotum
