I wanted to write a story with a corporate setting, where the protagonists work in the same company, with a bit of an office romance thrown in. However, I did not want to go down the trodden path of the female lead being subservient to the male lead, by being his personal assistant. Hence the character of Kavya was worked in such a manner that she would come to work with Varun, but also would have a holding of her own.(less)
