My first published book 'Cold Hell in Darley Dene' (written as Glenn Stuart) was the culmination of years of trying to get myself into print. Back in 1979 I submitted a novel to a publisher, and in 2009 Darley Dene was accepted. Thirty years of honing my skills, and learning a lot about the world. If I had the chance, I'd almost certainly re-write all of my books, improve them, make them more solid, because the more we write, the better we get. This is what has happened to 'Darley Dene'. It's now available as 'Lament for Darley Dene', re-written and improved. Soon, you will find the same with 'The Pawnbroker', a horror story which I am sure many out there will enjoy.
My current day-job is being a teacher, a job I love. Without it I would not

hi Martin!
Yes, I've thought about this myself. I think, first of all, that Western readers seem to be a very loyal lot. They appreciate good stories and come back to certain authors time and time again. There is something eternally romantic about the Western and, if it is a well-written, authentic tale, this is much appreciated.
But, to be honest, I don't really know. I love Westerns myself and always wanted to write one. Now that I have, I can't see myself doing much else!(less)

Some have already been at the core of several of my books, but to tell which is which would be giving too much away. But, I do feel it is important that you write about what you know best - and that has to be yourself!(less)

Adventures in Writing – a new look!

It has been quite a while since I last wrote this blog.

I became very disillusioned with my life all that time ago. My writing wasn’t going anywhere, my marriage was falling apart and, all in all, the future appeared grim.

Well, life is weird, as you all probably know! Here I am, all those years later, and almost everything has changed.

I have now remarried and am very happy.

I continue to live in
