Literary translator from Portuguese, Spanish and Catalan.

Andrew McDougall was born in Glasgow and studied Portuguese and English literature at the University of Edinburgh. He has also lived in Sussex, Lisbon, Coimbra, Logroño, Vitoria-Gasteiz and Norwich, where he completed an MA in Literary Translation at the University of East Anglia.

His work includes co-translating Paradise and Other Hells by José Eduardo Agualusa and translating various children’s books, including A Monster Story by Rocio Bonilla and an adaptation of The Three Musketeers.

Some of his other translations have been published in magazines and journals such as The Riveter, Your Impossible Voice, Qorpus and Art in Translation.
