"I came across the film on TV today and it struck me: I had to re-read the book. And I'm having so much fun. I find it particularly fascinating that C.S. Lewis actually states in the prologue that he intended to write a short story for his little goddaughter (and ended up with one of the most beloved fantasy series in history lol) because when you get to chapter 1 it DOES sound so much like a fairytale or something." — Mar 17, 2019 08:30PM

"Okay, Mr Rothfuss, it's getting personal between you and me. I will not condone that this book is getting deliberately longer than it ought to be. I'm also getting way too tired of Kvothe 'cause, you know, I don't buy that "hey here are all the misfortunes I've been through but you are not allowed to pity me" act. And that condescending tone of his --it'd better be over by the end of this story." — Feb 03, 2019 03:53PM

"I'm finding this not only informative but also engaging. Neil deGrasse Tyson combines facts and storytelling with effective and visual results. The style is very similar to the one he uses to host TV show Cosmos, which -for those of us who have watched it- makes it easier to move forward.
Note to self: stop insisting on reading this before bed. You just keep falling asleep and missing the page you are on." — Jan 09, 2019 09:38PM

“I will find you," he whispered in my ear. "I promise. If I must endure two hundred years of purgatory, two hundred years without you - then that is my punishment, which I have earned for my crimes. For I have lied, and killed, and stolen; betrayed and broken trust. But there is the one thing that shall lie in the balance. When I shall stand before God, I shall have one thing to say, to weigh against the rest."
His voice dropped, nearly to a whisper, and his arms tightened around me.
Lord, ye gave me a rare woman, and God! I loved her well.”

“I cannot fix on the hour, or the spot, or the look or the words, which laid the foundation. It is too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun.”

“Adults follow paths. Children explore. Adults are content to walk the same way, hundreds of times, or thousands; perhaps it never occurs to adults to step off the paths, to creep beneath rhododendrons, to find the spaces between fences. I was a child, which meant that I knew a dozen different ways of getting out of our property and into the lane, ways that would not involve walking down our drive.”

“Grown-ups don't look like grown-ups on the inside either. Outside, they're big and thoughtless and they always know what they're doing. Inside, they look just like they always have. Like they did when they were your age. Truth is, there aren't any grown-ups. Not one, in the whole wide world.”
