M.H. Hawk has been trying to figure out how things work for as long as he can remember. That curiosity turned into a career that refused to stay in one lane - real estate, ethical finance, business consulting, Information Technology - and eventually into books.

Along the way, he noticed something: the people who understood complicated things best were rarely the ones who explained them well, and the explanations that stuck were almost never the technical ones. They were stories.

There are humor memoirs drawn from years of odd jobs and odder coworkers, written with the conviction that the strangest material in any workplace is the true stuff. There is educational fiction that teaches technical subjects through narrative, built for readers who glaze over at textbooks but remember characters. There is plainspoken nonfiction on failure, finance, and technology - subjects most people are quietly intimidated by and shouldn't have to be. And there is fantasy inspired by classic storytelling traditions from around the world, because some truths travel better wearing a costume.

Different genres, same job description. Whether he's explaining financial concepts using a playground analogy, breaking down cybersecurity for people who don't work in IT, or showing how to fail well using a toddler learning to walk, the goal is always the same: if you finish one of his books and think "oh, *that's* what that means," he's done his job.

His years advising clients, training staff, and translating jargon across industries taught him that clarity is a form of respect - that nobody should need a degree to understand their own money, their own technology, or their own mistakes. His books are written for the reader who is smart, busy, and tired of being talked down to.

He lives in Southern California, where he's usually working on three books at once and calling it focus.
