I am a lifelong science fiction and fantasy reader, but have always enjoyed those stories that show how the science and technology affect people’s lives.

I write straight science fiction and came in 6th in the Geek and Sundry Hard Science Fiction contest on Inkshares.

Non Fiction writing:

This was actually quite a challenging question, but then this morning it hit me, I have the perfect mystery for a plot seed.
Suddenly this past month 4 pairs of black men's socks with patterns appeared in the clean laundry over 3 weeks. First 1 pair, then the next week 2 pairs, and the third week the last pair. All of them are sitting on my dresser so I know that they are not the same pair over and over.

There are four of us in the house and I buy the socks for my step-son and myself, and my cousin wears a much larger size.

Now these were not my wife's socks, they are too small for my cousin, and they are not ones that I have bought.

Where did these socks with patterns coming from? (less)

“She reached out both hands, touched two spots on the wall and the disappearing bed swung down. With the chairs open, there remained hardly room for one person to stand.”
Eric Klein, The One: A Cruise Through the Solar System

“Back in 1956, they had one-way broadcast radio communications for voice and limited black and white video that were limited by transmission power and two-way communications either by line of sight radio or copper wires. The best speed of communications for the next seventy-five years was the speed of light by radio, laser, or fiber optic. Even after sending probes to Jupiter and Saturn it would take more than a day for a single still image to be received on Earth. Today, we have the Ansible, utilizing applied quantum entanglement; providing near-instantaneous communication at bandwidth and distances that back then only science fiction authors dreamed of achieving.”
