Nick Lazzeri grew up in Glasgow’s Italian community, long before the city reinvented itself.

His family ran pubs, cafés and chip shops across Glasgow for generations, and he was raised on the stories told over their counters. Long ago, he promised someone special he’d write them down.

Before turning to fiction, he spent years making documentaries about Italian crime and mystery cinema. Those Glasgow places are ghosts now, but the memories have stayed vivid, and it’s time to tell the first tale. Ninety Nine is his first novel and the start of the DI Moscardini series. Call it opening time.

Nick lives quietly on the other side of the world with his wife and two children, and still misses a proper fish supper and a glass bottle of Irn-Bru.

One of the first books I bought (actually bought for me by my mother in a supermarket, she had no idea what is was about!) and it got me into horror at a young age and to Clive Barker in general. Fantastic!
