Exciting, thrilling, well-researched and interesting, this book was difficult to put down once I picked it up. I love the pacing and the international intrigue so elegantly woven through this book. I'd like to follow Mikhail Zoshchenko as he chronicles the absurdity of the Soviet Union in the first half of the 20th century, especially the day he wrote "The Bath House". Zoshchenko's satirical look at the Soviet Union makes for some very funny stories.

I might like to visit the old South of Mark Twain's stories, maybe meet his fictional characters. I'd even help out white washing the fence.(less)
