Meh. I was a bit shocked and disappointed by this, as I've been a fan of the author's TV work. But this was just too obviously 'clever' and by the numbers. In particular I can't think of a single character I found even remotely believable ... ...more

Not quite the Golden Age Christmas mystery I had expected, less mystery novel, more a psychological study of a dysfunctional family, but an outstanding book and well worth reading nonetheless. Beautifully written.
