A masterpiece. If we include the previously published HIS DARK MATERIALS books in the series, this is my favorite yet. I wouldn't give it to a child under 12 myself. But would heartily recommend it to those of age. ...more

This is the most miserable book in the series, and broadly the least loved. This read through, I think it comes out as my favorite of the series.
