My passion for writing started at the age of 8, when out of boredom, I picked up my pencil and wrote my first poem. Daddy was my first audience. May God bless his soul. He laughed heartily after reading the poem. It was more of a paradox about a frog who could not sing, but was a choir master. Rather than hang out with my friends during playtime, I spent most of the time imagining about adventures in space, fighting aliens and conquering colonies. I imagined I was a dashing irresistible warrior princes with no interest in love, a super hero, a secret spy and much more. At the age of 11, while in year 1 of Junior Secondary School, I wrote an adventure script and shared it with my friends. They loved it and pressurized me to write more, but I ...more

Maddy lived in total denial of her affection for David. David on the other hand, knew how to ruffle her ever cool demeanor.
Boss not wanting to date employee but nevertheless crazy about him. Very typical and superb fantasy. The series made me fall for Bruce Willis. Always follow his movies.

message 2: by Eric

Eric (Re, some questions u can answer in any way)

1. At what (young) age did you start getting the urge/itch to write, and did you have ambivalent feelings about this, then?
2. Which/what writers inspired you most as a child/young person? Who were your favourite writers then?
3. How did you feel seeing your first published book - in print for the very first time? And how did you react
4. Do you know about pioneer female writers in Africa? Like Flora Nwapa, Zulu Sofola, and Miriam Tlali (South Africa)? They had to fight against many odds to get published in those days...do they inspire you?
5. By the way, who are your favourite female African writers? And what about Eurocentric female writers who excite you?
6. Till date, Wole Soyinka (since 1986) remains the only black African writer to win the Nobel Award for Literature. What are your thoughts about this?
7. What are your future plans as a writer - maybe your approach/theme to your next book?

Urenna Sander Thank you, Yemisi, for recommending Maids of Misfortune by M. Louisa Locke. I have added this book to my books to read.

I am suggesting one of my favorites: 'Til the Well Runs Dry, by Lauren Francis-Sharma.

Kindest regards,

Urenna
