Born in November 1983 in Brittany, France, Linda Hamonou spent most of her childhood reading adventure and fantasy books, while exploring the folklore of Brittany. After graduating high school, she entered university to study physics. For the second year, she studied diverse fields of physics in two universities simultaneously. With a growing interest in atomic and molecular physics she entered master course and finished her master degree in France before moving to Northern Ireland where she obtained her PhD in 2009. This author writes in English and her books are not yet available in French.

The first thing about this book is that it sounds mostly rational. The author used his own observation of human nature to actually confront his own and other's believes. Satanism is presented more as a philosophy than a religion and the main line is not to hate yourself for who you are but accept yourself flaws and all.

This books doesn't really stand alone as a cult bible. The first parts are mostly dedicated to show the hypocrisy of other religions. I would have assume that a church would have some more sophisticated guidelines about the philosophy it presents without having to go through pointing fingers at others. It mostly goes like this: This is human nature but other religions think it's bad because (generally attached an argument bringing said other religion a financial gain of some sort against followers, or hypocrisy, or stupidity) so you shouldn't listen to them but listen to what you want instead.
Personally, I totally see how that works and I totally see the all mess coming out of it if everyone listen. I mean the book is directed to smart people who have already learn to moderate themselves to give into indulgence instead of compulsion and even if the difference is clearly explained, we can see the compulsion in every human being all over. That being said the book also has a list of unacceptable behaviors.
I was expecting something more elaborated in term of cult and the only part that had any real interest in that sense was the Keys despite the lack of courses.

The other things that rang a bit off were the rituals. First it was said that the ritual should be performed at the time when the person you want to do witchcraft on is asleep and more accurately on the dream part. The example gives something like if the person goes to sleep at 11pm and wake up at 7am, do your ritual in his dream period around 5am. The little problem is that the dream period is usually not at the end of the period of sleep but at the end of every sleep cycle which last about 1hour 20 minutes, for about 20 minutes.
The use of the white candle in the ritual to symbolize the right-hand white-light magic hypocrisy also seems totally out of place. Why would anyone want to drag into their ritual something that has nothing to do with the task at hand? I mean yeah, the churches are filled with sinners who are forgiven and do the same sin over and over again as soon as they are out of the church, and the church doesn't care about anyone's well being but only create a vision of impossible perfection to be achieve and white-light magician call on powers they protect themselves from. They are all hypocrite. I get that, the End, get over it, you don't need to keep thinking about it all the time, especially during a ritual when you have to concentrate your energy on your desired out come.
Most of the things used in the ritual are just a different version of what is used during mass and other cult's ritual but is supposed to be more accurate and more true to nature. Personally I'm not entirely convinced.

There is also a huge part dealing with sex and acceptable sexual behavior. Basically do whatever you want as long as you do it between consenting adults which is totally how it should be. However there is a drag on and sex comes back is a lot of example and I can see why a lot of people associate satanism with depravation even if it's not meant to be. The book also treat sex magic and rituals to attract lust sex partners which to me seem to be contradictory with the consenting adults part.

The other problem I have with this book is that all there is to it is claims and no practical research. The Author has an opinion about other religions from his own observation but there is no real proof that his point of view can change something for the better of the human race. Would indulgence really make someone happy? I'm not sure to what extend. The narrative was also more turned toward the dismissal of the other religion system than toward the real progress given but satanism.

It was a good read and I think a lot more people should read this book and learn more about satanism. I don't like to see comments about certain topics from people who don't have a clue what they are talking about. ...more "
