Hopeless bookaholic, hopeful author, magazine columnist, ballet teacher, mommy of three (not counting the dog or the chickens), drinker of mugs of half and half with a splash of coffee, red wine lover, former contemporary dancer, mind behind the Shadows Trilogy: Shadows Gray, Shadows Falling, and Shadows Lost. Coming in the holiday season of 2015, Once Upon A Winter, a steampunk retelling of the Nutcracker.

goodbye

I'm about to break out in song, specifically So Long, Farewell, from The Sound of Music, but I will refrain (though I do know all the parts and all the waves). It's time for this little blog to go the way of all little blogs everywhere, to the Big Blog Land in the Sky, where it can ramble to its hearts content out in the Green, Green Pastures. Everyone dies, my dears, and The Daze of Us is no exce Read more of this blog post »

First half was amazing. Second half had a romance that gave me the ick, the characters I loved became cliches, and it just ended abruptly.

It’s well written, a page turner, has some great twists, but Beth is so irritating and unlikable I had a hard time even wanting to finish it.

“One hundred religious persons knit into a unity by careful organization do not constitute a church any more than eleven dead men make a football team.”

N.D. Wilson
“Stealing ideas from contemporaries is rude and tasteless. Stealing from the long dead is considered literary and admirable. The same is true of grave-robbing. Loot your local cemetery and find yourself mired in social awkwardness. But unearth the tomb of an ancient king and you can feel free to pop off his toe rings. You'll probably end up on a book tour, or bagging an honorary degree or two.”
