Okay, so I just finished this one late last night instead of sleeping, because that’s what Abby’s books do to me.

Her books have this way of melting together the heavy and the humor, and Life’s Too Short is no exception. It has all the classic Abby sass and sarcasm I crave in her stories, while also tackling real and serious issues that people face every single day.

Heavy topics are dealt with in here (ALS, addiction, mental health), but the laughs are woven in exactly when you need them, and not

First and foremost, thank you Abby for the advanced copy of this book to read and review.

One thing that Abby Jimenez has proven over the course of three novels is her ability to write heartbreaking, heartwarming, believable and hilarious romances. She is also incredible at grounding her stories in real, life-altering issues that people face on a daily basis. Whether it's infertility like in "The Friend Zone" or grief after losing a loved one in "The Happy Ever After Playlist," Jimenez takes the

From a Goodreads interview with the author: (
AJ: I just turned in the first draft of my third book. It’s called Life’s Too Short and it’s about prestigious St. Paul attorney Adrian Copeland and the woman from next door, Vanessa Price. Vanessa is a famous inspirational YouTuber with a family history of ALS and the early onset symptoms of the fatal disease. It’s hilarious, and beautiful, and sad and I think it’s my best work yet. And yes, we get cameos f

Wow! I mean seriously wow! I am consistently astounded at Abby’s ability to tackle hard subject with grace and humor.
Every time she sucks you in and makes you feel like you are a part of the story. Like you are living in their world.

Life is crazy hard and we all deal with so much. No two stories are the same but finding similarities in the struggle and identifying with someone inside of a romance novel while giggling at the same time is simply amazing.

She has done it again with Life’s too Shor

Wow, Abby Jimenez does it again!

Life’s Too Short has an extended family storyline from The Friend Zone and Happy Ever After Playlist. I loved briefly “seeing” the characters from TFZ and HEAPL in Life’s Too Short. Her ability to close the chapters from TFZ and HEAPL allows the reader to readily jump into this book with no reservations!

Life’s Too Short will take you on a wonderful journey through so many emotions. The meet cute is hilarious. In true Jimenez style, you feel like you KNOW these pe

I was a sensitivity reader for this manuscript so I will not be rating or reviewing this. Plus, the author is a friend so I’m totally biased. This one hit me right in the feels, just like Abby’s first two books.

I fear some people are entirely too delicate to appreciate some really fine work and some serious ability to bring some fresh air to modern "romance". I love reading.. alot...cannot remember learning how, it's just like breathing. But honestly I hate really sappy cookie-cutter romance novels. And I really hate Damsel in Distress nonsense. And I really hate boring books that everybody loves...that are written by men. Finding something new and refreshing is really wonderful. In her three books thi ...more

This cover is really cute! In fact, this entire series has adorable covers. Abby Jimenez really lucked out in the cover department.

I was lucky enough to get an advanced reader copy. What can I say? Abby did it again. Her third book will make you laugh, it will make you cry, and you'll love every minute of it.

She has such an ability to take subjects that are real and complex and turn them into incredible novels. The witty banter and budding romance offset the serious subjects of ALS, addition, and mental health topics; but don't make light of them either. It's all done with grace and style.

"There are people you can know for a lifetime and they never get into your heart. And then there are those who are already inside it, before you ever even lay eyes on them."

Adrian Copeland is a newly single, super sexy, successful lawyer - he thinks he has his life fully under control. That is, until he meets his neighbor Vanessa. Vanessa is a famous YouTuber that is currently balancing her fame and millions of followers with a ton of family drama. Her life is focused on traveling the world, usi

I read this book thanks to Abby’s traveling ARC program. Life’s Too Short could have had 600 more pages and it still wouldn’t have been enough. Abby writes these stories that feel like real life and you wish it would never end. You want to know every little detail because she legit puts in the work to make it 1000% believable. I’ve seen her put call outs in her Facebook group requesting anyone with expertise in a certain area because she wants to get it right. The topics aren’t just fluff, she t ...more

I sincerely hope the author doesn’t swoop in with a last-minute deus-ex machina to save the heroine from ALS, knowing the ridiculous and offensive stunt she pulled in the end of Book 1.

“I never save anything,” Vanessa said, grabbing the bottle opener on the counter. “I enjoy things as soon as possible. I burn the expensive candle, I use the fancy rose-shaped soap, and I drink the wine, even if the only thing I’m celebrating I the fact that’s it’s Tuesday.”

Vanessa Price isn’t sitting around and waiting for her life to begin. She’s traveling the world, living her best life, and documenting her travel adventures on YouTube. Well, she is until her sister, Annabel, drops off her we

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to read an ARC of Life’s Too Short. I’m in Abby’s Facebook group, submitted a pork butt recipe and the rest was history.

Reading Abbys words are like talking to a good friend. She balances life/adulting topics with wit, banter, and delicious amounts of relatable romance. Her books provide me with levity during this weird isolating year.

My favorite thing to do while reading LTS was to backtrack to the chapter title page after completing each chapter. Th

I am not a good writer, never have been. It is therefore safe to say that my writing of this review will probably not come close to doing this book justice. This is my 3rd of Abby Jimenez’s 3 books that I have read. Amazingly, they just keep getting better. I think part of the enjoyment is that it takes place in Minnesota where I live. However, even without that connection, the book would still be a 5+star book. As I was reading one part, I could totally visualize it being a Hallmark Christmas m ...more

Abby fills in another corner of her tapestry and leaves us wanting more. Women and men who, desperate to do the "right thing" and not hurt the people around them, get in the way of their own happiness. In "Life's Too Short", we meet a vlogger/ YouTube star and her landlord/attorney/ neighbor...and how their lives are mashed up by a newborn, a toothless canine, and shared epicurean tastes. We get to touch base with some familiar faces from Abby's first two novels, and meet some new, fleshy-messy ...more

Abby has done it again! A fun read with all the emotions......laughter, love, sadness, forgiveness, and many more!
Abby’s characters, in each of her books, become so true to life, that you feel like they are part of YOUR circle of friends.
I really enjoyed reading Life’s Too Short, and I’m sure if you are fans of Abby’s other two books, you will love it too!

Read this book in 5 hours! Abby did it again! I absolutely loved the characters and story line. She has an incredible way of telling heartfelt stories with such wit and humor without minimizing serious situations. So incredibly grateful I was lucky enough to get an advanced readers copy.
