I came to writing late, and began with two 250,000 word novels. The reader has to get their money's worth, right? Sadly, there were no readers, only a couple of curious agents who wrote back with polite 'thanks but no thankses' that I added to an enormous pile of rejection slips.

Some time later, I forget why, I wrote a non-fiction book in Portuguese for the Brazilian market. Called a few publishers, sent out a few emails, and got a reply... a few months later it was in print!

So I wrote another... which also got published. (Five years later!)

And another, and that too is sitting on bookshelves. Well, mine at least.

However, I want to write fiction, and when a friend blackmailed me into re-editing (and re-ducing) my second novel, I found myself ...more
