I grew up in the Midwest (the St. Louis area), surrounded by a family who loved stories, whether from a book or told on the back porch. I've lived in various cities in different parts of the country, but wherever I've gone, books have been the bridge to new worlds and new friends.

I write the Jennie Connors/Riverview Manor mystery series: PUT OUT THE LIGHT, CONSIDER THE LILLY, BY WHOSE HAND, LEFT AT OZ, and LETHAL JOURNAL. These books are set in a retirement community where the residents are whip-smart, lively, and just bored enough to welcome the chance to help Activities Director Jennie Connors solve the occasional murder.

LOVE AND NOT DESTROY is a mystery set in a small town, so picture-perfect, you'd swear it was designed by Walt Disney

That book, Love and Not Destroy, was intended to be a standalone. I wrote it, then went back to the series I write, but Love and Not Destroy wouldn't leave me alone. It is the story of a young woman who was abandoned as an infant. At the end of the book, she learns who her biological parents are. I had answered the question I posed in the beginning, but now I wondered how she would relate to those parents, especially the mother - and how the two mothers (biological and adoptive) would relate to each other. In the writing, the current book has taken a turn I didn't plan, but what I've just said describes the original idea.(less)

After basics like food and shelter, I can’t think of anything more precious or more essential to the human spirit than independence. And there’s probably nothing more taken for granted by those who possess it. That’s too bad, a grievous failing. It’s also probably true that we here in the United States of America are more guilty of this failing than most. However, once a year we at least try to re

Thanks for accepting. I'm always glad to connect with other authors. I'm familiar with your name because of SinC and Guppies (where I have to admit I mostly lurk).
