More of this type of series??

I'm anxiously searching for more series like Night Huntress, Anita Blake (the beginning of the series), Sookie Stackhouse, The Hallows, Mercy Thompson, etc.

I've tried BDB and Midnight Breed...and I know A LOT of people are going to be angry with me saying that I didn't like them at all. They were way to predictable for me. In addition, I seem to prefer more action with kick butt heroins with hot scenes thrown in the mix.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I found the Arcadia Bell series to be pretty good. You may also want to check out the Chicagoland Vampire series by Chloe Neill.

I didn't like Midnight Breed either. I couldn't accept the overall mythology as plausible. Every couple of pages, I was like really? That's ridiculous! I finished the first book because I had to see it through but that was it for me.

The Psychic Eye series has a similar tone as the books previously mentioned above. I really enjoy them.

Kitty Norville series is also really good, she is a kick butt heroin.

I have a similar problem like you do with books, so I'd recommend the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning, its not vampires, its mostly Fae in it. I'd also recommend the Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh, it has vampires in it, but its mostly centered around angels.

Thanks so much for the suggestions. I've been wanting to check out the Fever, Guild Hunter, and Kitty Norville series. I wasn't familiar with the others, I must look them up!

The Fever series is a must and the Guild Hunter (Hot hot hot!)

I am really enjoying Darynda Jones - Charley Davidson
"Grave" Series. Its funny, moves fast, Charley makes mistakes and you can relate to her, with it still being paranormal and an interesting read.

I found it to be a cross between Stephanie Plum/Anita Blake and similar humour to the Night Huntress Series as Reyes reminds me a bit of Bones.

I just finished the first of the Demonica series books by Larissa Ione and I felt like its basic plot was similar to Night Huntress's.

I just started book 3, but Jaye Wells Sabin Kane series is along the lines of the Night Huntress. Sabina's a half breed (half vamp/half mage) and was raised by her Grandma who doesn't like anything but vamps, and makes her life hell because she's part mage. She's been trained as a assasin.

Something a little more like the Rachel Morgan series would be the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews. It's about magic and takes place in a sort of alternative world (kind of post apocalyptic).

Larissa Ione's Demonica series is also post apocalyptic, but is mostly about demons. The Lords Of Deliverance continues from the Demonica series but is about the 4 Horseman. It reminds me of the world for the Rachel Morgan series.

I like Jenna Black's series "Morgan Kingsley" I have read the first two books so far. It's not about vampires or anything, but Morgan Kingsley is an exorcist and it's about how demons can reside in willing human hosts legally and how she exorcises demons in unwilling human hosts (even though it usually leaves them in a vegetable state afterwards, sadly). It's an interesting concept. I plan to continue the series when I have a chance!

I have read the Rachel Vincent series, but have yet to check out Kelly Armstrong's Bitten. I've made sure Bitten is on my TBR list!

I am half way through book 1 in the Sabina Kane series! So far, I think I'm going to like this one.

I've read so many great series like this that I lose track, but if you check out my prife about 90% of the book's i've read are urban fantasy/paranormal romance.

My favourites by far though are;
Hollows series - Kim Harrison
Alex Craft series - Kalayna Price
Negotiator Trilogy - C.E Murphy

I'm currently working through the Sabina Kane series. Once I have completed that, I think I'm going back to the Hollows series...I was enjoying the books, but my library didn't have ebook copies. In addition, I plan to check out the books you have read, maybe that will give me more ideas:)
