Mary (StylistMary401) | 6 comments So I'm officially in a reading slump. Ive read all the good ones, Cat and Bones, Kate Daniels, Fever Series, Vampire Academy, Immortals after Dark, Chicagoland Vampire, Black Dagger Brotherhood, etc etc etc.

I started venturing out into other genres, but to be honest, if it doesn't have the underlining feeling of romance then I'm just not into it. Now saying that alone is a huge feat for me because, for YEARS I have been in denial that I only read sex infused books. I can say that ive come to terms!

So I need help! Any recommendation?

Love series books!

Thanks!!

Steph (lovessf) Have you read the Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones?
This is the first book, First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson, #1) by Darynda Jones . It's really funny, an incredible storyline and a fantastic romance.
It's the same couple throughout the series.
Hope that helps :)

I started it, about a third of the way in and I love it!

Also bared to you by Sylvia Day
And of course fifty shades of grey

Steph - I downloaded the first Charlie Davidson novel, and I'm having a really hard time getting into it - I'm about 30% into the book. I'm assuming I need to stick with it? *fingers crossed that it gets better soon*

Need your thoughts, thanks!

Mary (StylistMary401) | 6 comments Thank you so much everyone!!! I'm downloading as I type :)

I'm almost tempted to just start writing books that I want to read. Anyone else ever start doing that?

Jennifer☠Pher☠ (naylorjen) | 32 comments Mary, if it doesn't have to be PNR I highly suggest reading ANYTHING and EVERYTHING by Kristen Ashley. I have read over 23 books in a row and can't get enough. You should start with Rock Chick (Rock Chick, #1) by Kristen Ashley , be prepared to be addicted!

Absolutely!! And the best part of doing that is getting the story you want - LOL. Of course, some times the characters have other ideas but that is part of the fun of writing your own book. But I do have to warn you - once you start down the path of writing you're going to want to share your stories with others. :) Luckily, with all of the resources available it's very easy to do so. And you will probably find readers who enjoy what you wrote so win-win! And that is a wonderful thing.

For adult PNR, I would recommend the Midnight Breed series. I think the first book is Kiss of Midnight (Midnight Breed, #1) by Lara Adrian .

If you love YA, I would suggest Half-Blood (Covenant, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee Blood Will Tell (Warriors of Ankh #1) by Samantha Young Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna, #1) by Kendare Blake Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1) by Rachel Hawkins Obsidian (Lux, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout Hollowland (The Hollows, #1) by Amanda Hocking . These aren't all PNR but have some supernatural/UF aspect to them (angels, witches, zombies).

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

I need romance in my books too.

The Midnight Breed series has lots of romance and sex.

Obviously, the YA books don't have sex but most have lots of teen angst romance.

Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna, #1) by Kendare Blake Hollowland (The Hollows, #1) by Amanda Hocking have the least amount of romance but they are SUCH good books.

C.D. Hussey (cdhussey) | 26 comments Mary wrote: "I'm almost tempted to just start writing books that I want to read. Anyone else ever start doing that?"

Yes-lol. Unfortuantely, when I'm writing, I have a hard time actually reading anything because I can't get out of my own head. I'm still reading the last BDB book, and I haven't looked at it in at least a month! Which means I don't have a lot to add to the main topic of this thread.

That being said, the writing process is much more rewarding for me, but definitely more work. You should give it a go!

Eeek | 46 comments One of my favorites is the Downside Ghosts series by Stacia Kane. They somehow keep getting better as the series goes along, and it starts with
Unholy Ghosts (Downside Ghosts, #1) by Stacia Kane
Initially I was a bit put off by the issues of drug addiction and the slang spoken by Downsiders, but am so glad I stuck with it.
