That describes me to a T. :) I have quite a few books that I've never really read all the way through since my "skimming" didn't show anything to make me want to read from cover to cover. I really need to stop that.

Oh I skim as well. I'm a champion skimmer. If the parts lend nothing to the story I don't see why I should bother with it

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!! This is so funny. And this is one book that I absolutely despise. well the characters that is
Come to think of it we should have it as one of our book discussion group read

Sometimes I think there can be too much drama in a romance novel. It gets in the way of my enjoyment factor. I have to be in the mood for it.

LOL Eugenia, I did throw it across the room several times. It took me a month to read it. I'm sure it elevated my blood pressure and cholestrol levels!

Sometimes I just want a sweet love story where the h/h look into each others eyes and know it's forever. Those are nice because I know life isn't quite that easy. I hate reading about adultery and kids dying and stuff like that in a romance novel. It totally ruins my buzz.
I like the fiery passion, too. But I want it to be special between the h/h. Personally, it doesn't work for me if I feel like it's just sex and it could be another person that's with the h or h. I want their feelings to be unique for both of them.

Oh I remember that one! I think it was a dnf for me. Couldn't finish it and the next book in my pile kept enticing me to read it more heh. Kudos to Ms. Davis for the risk though!
My favorite of hers is still The Color of Trouble. The heroine gets on my nerves like crazy but the passion between her and the hero and the back story made up for it for me. :-)
