Carolyn | 2086 comments My review of Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes 4★

review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Not as good as You in my opinion, perhaps because we know the main character too well and he is no longer as shocking.

Carolyn | 2086 comments If you like well researched historical events, you might enjoy this account of a true crime, the trial of a 13y old boy in 1895 for murdering his mother, his time in Broadmoor and his subsequent life in Australia as a soldier who served in Gallipoli and at the Somme.

and
The Scold's Bridle

My most memorable was The Ice House. I think they did a TV show of it once.

PattyMacDotComma | 816 comments 4★ for Don't Say a Word by Jennifer Jaynes. This is the 3rd book in a series, but all three are good stand-alone mysteries. There's just enough background to help readers, but there's no need to have read previous books.

Carolyn | 2086 comments I finished The Girl In The Ice by Robert Bryndza 4★

A good start to a new series featuring an interesting DCI, Erika Foster. Lovers of Angela Marsons will probably enjoy this.

Carolyn | 2086 comments Also finished this week Sidney Chambers and The Perils of the Night by James Runcie 4★

If you've been watching the Grantchester Mysteries of ABC, then this is the book the last series is based on.

PattyMacDotComma | 816 comments 4.5★ Really liked Jaye Ford's suspenseful Darkest Place.

Carly's got some dark secrets, the place she's moved to has some dark secrets, and she thinks she's being stalked - or going nuts. A good, well-written page-turner. Good characters, too.

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 47 comments I reckon I'm getting better at deciding what to read, as for me, all three that I've just read were worthy of five stars:

The Slow Regard of Silent Things (The Kingkiller Chronicle, #2.5) by Patrick Rothfuss https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Play Dead by Angela Marsons https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

The Illegal Gardener (The Greek Village, #1) by Sara Alexi https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Suz | 487 comments Currently just over half way on The King of Lies, enjoying it as he's a new (to me) author. I think though after this one I will read something other than a thriller. Have read Harlan Coben quite a bit lately and it might be nice for a change.
