I've only seen two opinions on this book 1) Love or strong like and 2) Annoyed by the writing style.

The writing was jarring at first, but I'm liking the story so far.

The annoyance of the writing vanished quickly for me! I'm a strong LOVE! ;-P

As I got to know the character more, it became a non-factor for me as well. By chapter 4 I no longer even noticed it.

Even though I'm only halfway through I would definitely recommend it. I'm not in love with her writing style but the characters are great and the world development is lovely. :)

Tracy | 51 comments I'm currently reading Invisible (Aerling, #1) by DelSheree Gladden which is really good so far!

I'm also part way into Everlong (Everlong Trilogy, #1) by Nikki Morgan which is pretty good, but I'm finding myself more sucked into "Invisible".

I just noticed the covers! Both lacking in color, but still nice...

And if I like books 2 and 3 as much as book 1, I'll end up really loving the series.

I really hope you're right. I'm trying to keep my expectations kind of leveled, just in case.

In your opinion, would you say the sequels get better, stay the same, or fall off a little?

message 10035: by Heidi (new)

If this series ends up being half as good as you guys thought(and book 1+ the first 5 chapters of book 2 lead me to believe it very likely will) I can see it raising the bar for me for a while.
I'd love for these to be turned into movies. We should force everyone to read them and sign petitions haha.

Heidi | 2372 comments Tommy last I checked Chaos was in "in development" so at least it is on the movie radar. His other book A Monster Calls is in pre-production and has a cast so that is a good sign. Liam Neeson is cast as The Monster so I am psyched! Sigourney Weaver is also in it as the grandmother. Woot!

I've read A Monster Calls recently, it was really well done, one I'd call a painfully beautiful book. I had no idea it was going to be a film!
