I'm still plodding along in The Dream Thieves! The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place is a cute series, I've read the first 3. Really fun :)

Reading a few library books right now The Saints (Quarantine, #2) by Lex Thomas and The Young Elites (The Young Elites, #1) by Marie Lu

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 957 comments I recently came to the conclusion that, since I am a very easily satisfied person in terms of entertainment, I will start discarding books that don't capture my interest within the first few chapters(a very easy thing to do, really) and moving along to the next rather than continuing with hopes that I'll enjoy it more along the way. Unfortunately, The Mysterious Howling (The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place #1) by Maryrose Wood has fallen victim to this philosophy after three chapters :/

So, I moved along to The Vengekeep Prophecies by Brian Farrey Four chapters in and I'm already really enjoying it :)

I liked the main character a lot, but the story wasn't working for me. Perhaps it was bad timing on my part. I think I'll return it to the library and check it out again in the future if ever I feel so inclined.

Lauren Stoolfire | 2047 comments I've just started on Bloom and Doom (Bridal Bouquet Shop Mystery #1) by Beverly Allen - a book club I'm in is reading it for our next meeting. The cozy mystery isn't the norm for me - I usually prefer my mysteries a little more hard-boiled - but it's okay so far! :)

I am a huge fan of the cozy - they are great stress relievers to read in between heavier books. I have not read this one though.

Rose (The_Calm_Reader) (roselittlebookowl75) | 1372 comments I'm not currently reading this but has anyone seen the cover for the third book in the The Darkest Minds trilogy by Alexandra Bracken yet? I got an email this morning with a picture of it! The cover is amazing!!

Here's a picture! In the Afterlight by Alexandra Bracken !!

I have The Darkest Minds on my Kindle and am planning to get Never Fade!

I love the cover too Harlee!! Its so cool! I need to read The Darkest Minds. It is on my Kindle and on my TBR list. Can't decide whether to read Throne of Glass series next, which I have books one and two on my Kindle, or The Darkest Minds next after I finish Brew!

message 9488: by Daniel (new)

Daniel (pickyreader1) | 1925 comments Harlee, we are definitely buddy-reading In The Afterlight.

message 9489: by Harlee (new)

Harlee | 1583 comments I know the struggle, Rose! I need to finish Dreams of Gods and Monsters (I made a lot of progress in it today!), read The Blood of Olympus, then finally start Brew :) and then eventually get into the Throne of Glass series lol!

message 9493: by Daniel (new)

Daniel (pickyreader1) | 1925 comments lol.
I always keep my librarian posted regarding new books and release dates, and she always manages to get them for me.
Funny enough, my first pitch to the librarian was about the Darkest Minds, and after she read it, she liked it so much she got 3 copies for the library. Ever since then, she's always done my bidding. LOL.

Yes, I think I would prefer that actually...I have The Darkest Minds in hardcover, although do not own Never Fade yet. Got that one from the library I think.
