Kynndra, the more emotions a book can generate from me, the higher the rating. If I'm that INTO a book where I'm sobbing or laughing hysterically, THAT'S what I look for in a GREAT book!! And geez, David's bring out all of that ALL the time. ;)

And I have dropped EVERYTHING else to read David's ARC of Slip. The ONLY reason I stopped reading last night is because my Nook bonked me in the forehead when I fell asleep. I'm going to be useless today at work. I'm chomping at the bit to read the last 31% and can't stop thinking about Slip.

If you guys are enjoying his Dweller and Country series, Slip is his best yet IMO!! :)

I couldn't have said it any better, Karen. David's writing brings out the ultimate emotional response one is supposed to get from a book. You feel every characters presence and when something bad happens, or good to them you feel it which is one of the best thing a book can give someone in my opinion.

His best? Wow now I'm really, really excited. I've notice that David's books just keep getting that much better with each one. I can only imagine what Slip will be like /violent wheezing/ I can't wait for June 16th!

This is so very exciting to hear. Simply cannot wait (I feel like this one's going to be one hell of an emotional roller coaster!) Which I'm going to prep myself for lol.

Lauren Stoolfire | 2047 comments I just finished The Program (The Program, #1) by Suzanne Young and it was excellent! I highly recommend it, especially the audiobook!

I've also just put down Extras (Uglies, #4) by Scott Westerfeld after giving it a shot - I couldn't get into it. Can someone explain why a fourth book was added to a trilogy?

I'm currently listening to Blood Red Road (Dust Lands, #1) by Moira Young which I'm absolutely loving! So far I'm going to say that if you enjoyed The Knife of Never Letting Go and The Hunger Games, you'll probably love this!

I enjoyed The Program to Lauren although it took my brain a minute to stop snickering at the thought of them thinking love is a disease. I also enjoyed Red Blood a lot but haven't read the next one.

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 957 comments Just finished Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky, #1) by Veronica Rossi and am surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Almost passed on it. REALLY glad I didn't(thanks for the folks who harped on about it).

I think tonight I'll start The Polaris Uprising (Polaris, #1) by Jennifer Ibarra a book I got for R&R. Sounds pretty interesting.

message 7490: by Daniel (new)

Daniel (pickyreader1) | 1925 comments I just finished The Lightning Thief (in one day), and I liked it a lot. The thing is, I saw the movie first, but it's so different from the book that I was confused sometimes while I was reading. I kept saying to myself, "hey, that's not how it happened in the movie!" But anyway, I enjoyed it. I'll review it soon, and start reading the next book.

By the way, would anyone consider putting up a "What Book Have You Just Finished" thread? Because I feel awkward posting this on the currently reading thread.

I always post what I've just finished! ;)

I just finished a book I won on Goodreads, Sketchy (Bea Catcher Chronicles, #1) by Olivia Samms . It's not my typical genre but it was actually good.

Still working on The Girl of Fire and Thorns (Fire and Thorns, #1) by Rae Carson and my reread of Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor .

But started The Red Queen (The Cousins' War, #2) by Philippa Gregory tonight because I'm in the mood for historical fiction.

And I'm listening to Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge on audio.

I'm still in a book hangover from reading Slip, I think. ;) I'm having a hard time settling on any one book tonight.
