The characters are really well fleshed out and distinct from one another. I hope I can get my hands on the rest of the series soon.

Nil sounds really interesting. I'vr seen lots of mixed reviews though. Would you recommend it?

message 6907: by Cindee (new)

Cindee | 331 comments just finished reading the program. I had a hard time getting into it at first. it was kind of depressing, talking of suicide non stop. then I had a real problem falling in love with the main characters love interest. however I pushed thru because so many people loved it. and I soon found myself falling in love with the book and the main characters love interest. really a great book, cant wait to start the treatment, only disappointed to bet a third novel is coming and not anytime soon!

message 6908: by Heidi (new)

message 6909: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (paper_addict) Last night I finished reading Water and Storm Country. Loved it!

I will probably be buying Earth Dwellers and start it today. It's always bittersweet when you finally get to the last book.

message 6923: by Daniel (new)

Daniel (pickyreader1) | 1925 comments I'm itching to see Adele and Tristan together again. Roc is amazing and so is Elsey.
I find it amazing that David was able to develop characters so well although his books are less than 300 pages. It typically takes me a while to warm up to them.
If I had a suggestion for David it would be that these books could actually have been longer, with a more complicated and drawn out plot. This would have allowed for even more character development and even more time for the readers to connect with them. Some of my favourite series are ones where I have really connected with the characters, and this usually happens with series with long books, like Gone, Harry Potter, and The Darkest Minds.
That's my 2 cents for David. lol

Thank you! I do appreciate the feedback! Something I think you'll notice as you go through the Dwellers and Country Sagas, you'll find that I develop quite a lot as a writer, in both confidence and style, and the books get longer, which I think you'll like. If I could do it all over again, I would probably have changed some things in terms of the complexity of the plot, as you suggested. So we're totally on the same page :)

I wasn't sure about the audio because of Jesse Eisenberg being the narrator, I didn't imagine him is the voice of Cassel, but his reading actually is great and it works for the character!

Yeah I think I would. The main thing about it was the suspense. It was right down to the last pages! There was an awful lot of focus on the romance though and it was an instalove connection, which I usually don't like. Also, the reason for the island being there was never really explained. But the characters were great, the story was interesting and it was hard for me to put down!
