WTF?!??!
OMG Kenjii..I was browsing this noble romance site LOL
And while most of the romance books have titles that are obvious that its a romance I never expected the title of the book I just seen!!
"Beautiful C*cksucker"
LOL wtf
Tricia: It is a m/m romance and yes it caught my eye to. Enough to where I read the blurb, excerpt, and went to the author's site. I wondered if she was just being perverted or whatever, lol. But actually the story is pretty good. That title just makes me smile now. That was my free pick. So you see what they have. U can pick urs too. U can get Beautiful C*cksucker if you want, lol!
I've always read erotica but took a long break from reading in general for several years. I started reading again in earnest this past summer and like so many, Twilight set me on PNR path again. I have found that plain old vanilla sex just doesn't do it for me anymore or at least that's what I thought until I started reading Outlander. The main characters have a lot of sex but it's not graphic at all. For some reason though, I've enjoyed them. I think I just really like the book and the characters so it means something. I have to like the characters. I've read some erotica that did nothing for me even though the sex was hot because I really didn't like the characters. I love m/m erotica though...as you probably know by now but still have to like the guys.
While I wouldn't quite say that due to all the erotica I read I'm anaesthetised by the idea of vanilla sex in 'tamer' books I find myself skipping over the sex scenes in, say, a Harlequin Mills & Boon book LOL Then I catch myself doing it and go back and read it properly and remind myself that if I want different I need to get a different kinda book. And I hafta say, I'm quite tickled by the idea that if I wanted I could read a book called Beautiful C*cksucker. Although truth be told I'm probably more tickled it's m/m hah
omg I just took a look LOL Noble Romance Publishing - Think Kink. That's their tag - Think Kink? That's a crack up LOL And I can't help but think kink when I see the covers/titles LMAO
yes, yes I know. But honestly. I DID read the blurb. Hehe. I love the title too tho. Barbara Sheridan did that on purpose to make us all laugh. It is the first time I have read an intimate BDSM story. It is sweet? LOL.
Do you read yaoi fiction/graphic novels? A friend and I were having a conversation about graphic novels and he reads The Punisher and that sort of stuff. He was a bit surprised when I said I'd read some yaoi and liked it. Can't say our library stocks yaoi books though LOL
Tosca: I have read 1 yaoi. I liked the ill. I want to read more. I will have to read reviews though b/c I have no idea who's who in the yaoi/manga world. I don't even KNOW where to start in graphic novels. When I go back to California they have thousands of shops I can visit so I will ask around.
I'll dip my hand in manga now and then when I find a good story and better art (the art is important to me, since it's a visual medium, can't stare at an eyesore for hours). My favorite is Bride of the Water God, Vol.1. Absolutely beautiful art. It's a Korean title.
ty new user I will add that to a new shelf I will look forward to building. I think comics, graphic novels, yaoi, manga. All these that are ill. take reading to a whole new level for me. I just like getting opinions to better the experience?
Yeah, a good place to find more manga titles, if you have a particular style, theme, or genre in mind, is MAL, where it's all categorized and ranked. It's kind of like GR for manga and anime. It's actually where I first heard about GR, LOL.
I been feeling like sleeping 10-12 hours a day. I check the clock when I am awake. It has only been 6-8 hours and I am ready for bed again. Thank God for you! Thank God for the urge to still want to read. Post and visit the smart, witty thoughts of others. Thanks for listening. Always being there and knowing what I mean when I bring up something about a certain phrase or comment in a book. Or about being a book-a-holic, lol.
watched Tropic Thunder for the second time last night. Still laughed myself silly. I rented online through Amazon for 1.99. Cool deal.
My neighbours had a party last night till the early hours of the morning. All I could hear is the bass go BOOM BOOM BOOM.I'm at work this morning feeling like death. Can you become immune to the effects of coffee? It's not working.
Oh Mel let me tell you, I would have called them on that. That was very inconsiderate of them! I cant believe some people are jackasses like that.
There is no way I would put up with a noisy neighbor.. know your rights and call the cops on them if you have to!
I am all for avoiding conflict.. but when my sleep is involved and I have to get up in the morning for work.. you bet I am going to do something about the noise :P
Jackasses alright. I don't want to be a party pooper but a party on a weeknight?!? so inconsiderate.
I've often wondered the same thing about coffee! There are some days that it just doesn't clear away the cobwebs! I feel for you about the party thing. It's hard to be a tattle tale. I've been in that situation a few times, but it was always the teens partying while single dad was away. I've had a problem with my neighbors trash bin lately. She leaves it out at the curb all week long with the lid open and it bangs against the bin and drives me crazy! I've had to go out in the middle of the night and close the lid to stop the banging so I can sleep.
Depending on how you metabolize your food, the caffeine in coffee can be quickly adsorbed and be less effective. Because you body is used to working on a certain amount of caffeine. If your adsorb the caffeine but are drinking the same amount of coffee, you still won't get the affects of it.
I tend to be daylight sensitive. I have a harder time getting up on dark, gloomy days, especially in winter. Then I drag through the day. That's why I'm a summer girl! When winter sets in and I get sleepy and headachy, I use a small light machine to help. It works for me.
I have not, but I love James Marsden and Seth Green (even if I tend to avoid the teen flicks), so I think I will.
OKay, I'm officially bored. lol I've read every thread here now, so I can just click on "read new" for the newest posts. I'd pick up a book and read but I'd have to start a new ficion book and have less than an hour before I have to leave and if I'm going to start a new book I'd like more time than that.
I've become addicted to Goodreads! lol I only discovered it a little over a week ago. It took me about 12 hours to put in about half of the books in my home library. Everything left is either old cookbooks, children's books, or serial harlequin romances (some in boxes, others on shelves). I may at some point put all those into goodreads as well (the harlequins that is), simply because with our challenges... it might be necessary to seek out a few to fill hard to fill categories. lol (And unless it's a cover search, easier to search online than to unload boxes or dig 3 deep in a shelf stacked 2 high. lol)Now.... to actually read today so I can start crossing stuff off my list.
BriansGirl: I know what you mean about being a GR addict. Hanging out here is my next favorite activity to reading. It actually fills that part of me where I can chitchat with fellow readers, since where I am right now, I don't have many reader friends.
Yz wrote: "BriansGirl: I know what you mean about being a GR addict. Hanging out here is my next favorite activity to reading. I got her hooked on Aunt Dimity mysteries. As a single mother of 3 boys, there are many times I'm either too busy or the house is too loud to read. That's when I've found myself hanging out at Goodreads. I'm checking the posts while timing them on homework, etc.
People who aren't avid readers just don't understand. Any time I leave a party early, turn down an invitation, cut a phone call short, etc...my friends and family say "What, you have to go read a book?" Like it's a bad thing to want to read. I spend plenty of time doing things and going places. I shouldn't have to defend my desire to read damnit! LOL
I don't have cable, so I only get network tv with an antenna (now digital tv with the converter box). With such a limited selection to choose from, there's almost nothing worth watching. So I either break out VHS/DVD movies from my collection, or read a book.
*raises hand*I too am a GR Addict.. and I am proud of it.
I got back to reading around November of last year and I cant believe I wanted so long to do so!
And you are right Lori, people just dont understand unless they too are an avid reader.
Course I guess that goes for anything really.. I dont understand sports fanatics.. but I would probably have to be one in order to understand :P
On average how many hours (about) you do spend on GR vs reading? I have to try and balance. I sign on in the AM and say "Only an hour" LOL. Then in the afternoon its a FFA. I sometimes get sleepy reading so when I feel sleepy I swtich to GR for a while. So GR about 2-3 hours a day (min. lol) reading 4+ hours min. a day
I check in with GR all throughout the day so it's hard to say how much time I spend on here in hours. I did finally drop a few groups because I feel compelled to read every post and it was getting ridiculous. I will say though that this is one of my favorite groups :)
when I'm at work, and working on my desk, I always have GR open. I like to drop by often, just check what is being talked about, and look at books. The downside is that my TBR list keeps expanding with this habit..LOL..
I do the same Yz. I have the site open all the time, even at home when I might be doing other things hehe.So that I can just refresh to see what I have missed :)
I was up till 2 in the morning reading Graceling by Kristin Cashore. I was so absorbed by the book I didn't realise the time. I just HAD to know what happend.Anyone have that happen to them recently?
I'll admit this is my favorite group on GR and I've caught up and read all the posts. lol I'm guilty at the moment of constantly swapping books around between my various reading challenges on here. lol I've signed up for the Feb Challange, What's in a Name Challenge, Read your Name Challenge, A-Z Book Challenge, and A-Z Author Challenge. For the Feb one all ten books must be different. But I'm trying to use up books from those other lists to compile my A-Z lists. Some letters were a big challenge!! If I find some obscure book that fits a difficult letter, trying to work it backwards into one of the other challenges. lol I don't read just romance books, so working in mysteries, classics, or biographies as well. Trying to work in books I wanted to read anyway. It's expanding my horizons adding books or authors I wouldn't have otherwise probably read. On the other hand, I removed a few books I had at one time added to the list simply because they were the only book I could find to fit a category (which didn't necessarily mean I want to read it. lol Or at least, not at the moment). I made an hour long trip (two trips in that hour actually, lol) to the library after searching their online catalog last night so that meant swapping stuff around on lists this morning and printing them off again. lol
Glad you like our group BriansGirl. I know what you mean about obsessing with the different challenges...LOL..I feel like I should be reading all the time, so I can meet my goals, but it is so much fun to put down a book's title and set a goal that it will be read this month or at least soon, instead of it languishing away in our real life or virtual bookshelves.
Yz's group is cool in that you can pick and choose between so many challenges :DI like to do that hehe, because if I tried to do them all I would probably stress out too much.
LOL..no stressing...LOL...yes, i have to remind myself to pick only the challenges I can handle. (note to myself: monthly challenge is priority..other challenges to follow in that order...LOL)
On the other hand, I also like reading what other people are reading, and hear what they have to say...of course, the end result is my ever-expanding TBR pile...LOL
It's a cycle, but I'm loving it. If i'm not reading, at least I get to chitchat about books here.
