Oi, those are the worst ahaha. Have you read The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey? For me, the beginning was slow, but after that, it got REALLY GOOD and now I can say it is one of my favorites!!

right now, i am reading Sanctum and Relic. i just finished city of ashes, it was pretty good. I'm liking the mortal instruments so far, though i think the infernal devices is a little bit better. i just like the setting of that series, in London, the 19th century, i believe? or maybe the 18th century, I'm not good with dates : )

I haven't read a lot of YA so I'm not sure what to compare this to, but it was my last read & I'm so glad I found it. I love it when books show teens w/ real adult problems & real adult-like consciences because I sure felt that way when i was that age.
It's about a teen who put her baby brother to bed & he died of SIDS. She's since felt responsible & her entire family (who are simply rotten) has made sure to let her know they also blame her for it.

yeah, i was skeptical, thinking it would be too depressing, but I was instantly invested in finding out what would happen to her & it did have a HEA, so I was hooked.
