message 1613: by Marie (new)

Marie | 257 comments I finished Starcrossed (Starcrossed, #1) by Josephine Angelini earlier this week and it really didn't impressed me. It felt like the kind of paranormal romance that I've already read a thousand times without anything special about it. I thought the plot was boring and I didn't care at all about the romance. There was nothing wrong with the book but nothing special either.

Now I'm reading Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna, #1) by Kendare Blake and it's pretty good and I'm also reading The 5th Wave (The Fifth Wave, #1) by Rick Yancey and it's really good.

It has it's awesome moments, but the pacing was inconsistent. In the beginning, it's reaally slow, and then really fast, slow, fast... I didn't feel anything for some of the characters. It was just okay.

Marie | 257 comments I just finished The Iron Queen (The Iron Fey, #3) by Julie Kagawa and I have to say this was definitively my favorite of the series so far. I thought the first two books had amazing world building but nothing else special but I really enjoyed this one. However, I still have some issues with Meghan( to me she sounds way younger than a 17 years old and her feelings for Ash are a little bit ''too much'' for me and I wish that Ash (and Puck in a way)had another purpose in life than just being in love with Meghan. But I did love getting to know Ash better and the fact that he had a secret that made him a little less perfect and so more interesting in my eyes.

I'm about to start Masque of the Red Death (Masque of the Red Death, #1) by Bethany Griffin

We often feel the same way about books Jona ;)
Did you read The Iron Knight yet?

Also, I decided to wait a little more before reading The masque of the red death since book 2 is out in a couple of days.

I decided to read Beastly by Alex Flinn instead and I liked it. It wasn't anything special but it was a quick and nice read.

Now, I'm about to start Cold Kiss (Cold Kiss, #1) by Amy Garvey since it's the book I pick up in my TBR jar ;) The cover is so pretty and shinny.

I haven't read The Iron Knight yet, but I'm going to read it soon. Its just that, it feels like I don't want the series to end. :)

Marie | 257 comments Yeah, I kinda feel the same way. I wanted to pick it up after I finished The Iron queen but I wasn't ready to be done with the series. If someone had told me I would feel this way when I read the first two books, I never would have believe him loll. I guess sometimes it really makes a difference to give a series another chance.

message 1646: by Marie (last edited Jun 13, 2013 09:35PM) (new)

Marie | 257 comments I really wanted to buy Of poseidon earlier this week but they didn't have a hardback copy at my store and I think the covers of this series are so beautiful that I couldn't be content with a paperpack copy.

So yesterday I finished Changeless (Parasol Protectorate, #2) by Gail Carriger and it was quite a dissapointement. I already knew the main male character wasn't as much in it as in the first book but I still expected to see him more. The romance between the 2 main characters was so incredible in the first book that I Couldn't help but be disapointed. Also, the plot was a little bit boring in my opinion.

Now, I'm almost done with Dare You To (Pushing the Limits, #2) by Katie McGarry and It's really good, I just wish the romance didn't get so corny at times. I'm not really a big fan of the the whole '' he smiles and I see hope, dreams and happiness'' thing we see often in contemporary. I'm just saying sometimes, a smile is just a smile is just a smile loll. But maybe I'm just in a critical mood. I just feel like the feelings in this book (and also in Pushing the limits) are a little too much for me...

I'm also reading Born Of Illusion (Born of Illusion, #1) by Teri Brown and loving it so far.

I also felt like that about Pushing the Limits, too sappy for me. And I'm going to read Dare You To tomorrow, hoping it will be much better than the first. :)
I also love the cover of Of Poseidon, but I couldn't find a copy here. So I'm reading it in ebook. :)
