That's hysterical! You gotta love your mom for trying though! I'm sure my son and grandkids do eyerolls at me all the time behind my back for getting it "almost right".

I have not read the Night Circus yet. Surprisingly, its not even on my bookcase yet (shocking!) But I've been wanting to read it for a long while. I've heard only good things about it. I think there is a movie deal in the works, too!

message 516: by Bethany (new)

Bethany | 171 comments I had a hard time with The Night Circus. It was definitely intriguing. I can't really say what my problem was with the book. I kept losing interest and wondering when it was gonna get Goooood.

I pre-ordered Dark Triumph (His Fair Assassin, #2) by Robin LaFevers -the sequel to Grave Mercy- and I'm impatiently waiting for it to download :/

If you haven't read Grave Mercy, then you are majorly missing out.

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 12932 comments Mod
Then I am missing out, LOL! That book I do have on my bookshelves, just haven't gotten to it yet! I've also preordered Dark Triumph, because I know I will like the series!

Yeah, if you like fantasy, it's pretty much a guarantee. It was, for me, even better than books like Throne of Glass or Graceling.

Sherrie | 1212 comments I bought Slide (Slide, #1) by Jill Hathaway last night.

message 522: by DeAnna (new)

DeAnna (dee84812) | 671 comments I didn't buy them, but Jellicoe Road and The Miseducation of Cameron Post are on sale. I know that they've been popular books, so I thought I'd point that out.

message 523: by Bethany (new)

Bethany | 171 comments What?! Jellicoe is $1.99. I'm gonna tell you all now...that's the best two dollars you'll ever spend.

I'd buy it all over again if I didn't already have it... :) David, you must get Jellicoe Road!!!

message 525: by DeAnna (new)

DeAnna (dee84812) | 671 comments The description didn't sound that great. You think I should read it?

message 526: by Bethany (new)

Bethany | 171 comments DeAnna wrote: "The description didn't sound that great. You think I should read it?"

YES! If you're a fan of contemporary, then you definitely need to read it. The description doesn't do it justice, but that's part of what is great because you don't know what you're getting into when you start. Then you get into it and it blows you away. I personally think that the best contemporary work comes out of Australia and this is one of the BEST! If I had to pick the book that has made me feel the widest and most intense range of emotions, it would be Jellicoe Road.

message 527: by DeAnna (new)

DeAnna (dee84812) | 671 comments I'm not a huge fan of contemporary, but I LOVED The Fault in Our Stars. I guess I'll give it a try. Any opinions on Cameron Post?

If you liked The Fault in our stars then I think you will most likely enjoy Jellicoe. I haven't heard of Cameron Post.

I loved Enclave, and also the sequel, Outpost. Its a very violent dystopian story.

Hi David, just saw your comment. Enclave is a good book. It is the first in a trilogy. The second book Outpost was released in either Dec.2012 or Jan. 2013. This is a dystopian novel. I would definitely recommend putting it on your TBR list. :o)
