Highly Recommended Titles on the Bookshelf?

I'm new to The Sword and Laser having only joined earlier this month. I was going through the bookshelf and I was wondering if you could recommend some of the titles on the bookshelf? Which books did you enjoy most?

As I can see at your profile, you're already reading The Way of Kings and you marked Gardens of the Moon and The Name of the Wind as to-read. All three books are great, my favorite is the "Kings" but also I'm impressed by Gardens of the Moon. Haven't read Rothfuss work yet and will not until 3rd part is out.

Hyperion is an absolutely fantastic novel with tons of interesting ideas and memorable characters. Oh, and the Shrike is terrifying!

Raven's Shadow Book One: Blood Song is Anthony Ryan's self-published, debut novel and is, in my opinion, one of the best fantasy novels I've ever read. Even with some minor editing issues (hey, it's self-published), I think that this book is on par in terms of style and quality with The Name of the Wind

Yeah, that one should be checked too, lots of people saying it's great and price wise it's cheap, around 3$ at amazon.

I think you'll get as many different recommendations as there are people in this forum....and for every person that loves a book, there are going to be some that hate it. For example, I really thought Daemon was terrible (and Freedom (TM) was even worse), but I know a lot of people really enjoyed it.

The two books that stick out most for me are Ender's Game and American Gods. There were others I really enjoyed Ready Player One, for example, but Ender's Game and American Gods are my top two, the books that I really LOVE this group for introducing me to.
