Georgia Anybody agree?

Clara MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely HATE that movie, but I'm not allowed to bring it up at home anymore because my mom got mad at me... Oh well! ;P

message 3: by Shannon (new) - added it

Shannon Yes. It was an all-out terrible job

Salam I wish they hadn't made that movie...it was disappointing!

Iesha (In east shade house at...) I agree the movie wasn't what I thought it would be-the story was told a little too fast for my taste plus a lot of the best scenes were cut or shortened. On the other hand, some of the characters fitted with my imagine of the characters as I was reading-like Brom and Eragon, but the person who plays the witch wasn't what I imagined her to be. Then again I read the books before I watched the movie so all I have to say is to each his own.

Clara OK guys if you type in 'Eragon' on YouTube a scene with Katrina that got cut is on there and the acting/lines are so awful they're laughable... I can see why they cut Katrina from the movie now.

Barely Breathing Banana the real question is anybody like the movie!

message 8: by Cat (new) - rated it 4 stars

Cat I hated it, the movie had nothing on the book...
especially seeing as there was ONE movie that ended on a cliffy. OK it wasn't that much of a cliffhanger but still.

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Barely Breathing Banana what you liked it?!?

Kathy G. The movie seemed like a Hollywood shoot-em-up just to draw in people and make money thing. They left out important parts of the story and it was hard to follow. The book was so much better. I only watched half the movie because I hated it so much. Big disappointment.
What is truly sad is-- They probably won't even try to make a sequel because who would want to see the second installment when they hated the first installment. What a travesty.

Barely Breathing Banana actually, people who have never read the book say they LOVED the movie, and im like "Really?! how could you like it? It was AWFUL!"

Shane Urgh. That movie was terrible! So many mistakes. When it came out, I went to see it in cinema: big mistake. Critiquing the film against the book at the premiere haha the only good thing we (my mates and I) agreed on, are the actors are lookers ☺

Helen I didn't hate it, but it was absolutely terrible in comparison to the book.

Clara I know! She was so cute!! Seriously watch this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCRNRG...

It's so awful, it's laughable!!! I seriously laughed until I cried.

Clara YYYEEESSS!!!!!! Winner over here!!! =->

Yes, I did. Arya had blonde hair instead of the black written in the book. Saphira looked creepy, instead of a beautiful dragon. What was Fox Entertainment thinking? Aren't you supposed to get the approval of the author for the movie? Guess Christopher Paolini was too drunk celebrating making a movie.

Yes. I agree. It was a huge disappointment.;(

Barely Breathing Banana Actually, she had red hair in the movie, I remember that much...the rest was just a blur of absolute aweful washing over me...and then...nothing.

Patrick I hated the movie because you couldn't see anything. All the scenes were really dark and you were always struggling to see what was happening. I've come across people that say that the movie was great, though that was probably because they hadn't read the book.

message 23: by Lexi (new) - rated it 4 stars

Lexi ME! I hated the movie. My sister and I watched it at the Cinema and walked out in the middle of the film.

maybe for those who haven't read the book they might like it, but for those who have, it was really awful.

Barely Breathing Banana thats so true! No-one in my family has read the books other than me and my bro, and he's already seen the movie so he's like 'NO! you don't wanna see it...its AWFUL!' but my Dad was like 'Nah, dont listen to your brother, it was great' so I watched it, and I HATED it! Murtaugh was goth, Arya was too happy and friendly while in the book, shes way more mysterious, and Eragon was a blond! Also, him and Roran were like twins not cousins! And the Razaac were looked like insects...they had no beaks! All in all, the movie was terrible!

Zachary I hated it but i almost always hate movies that come from books there always disappointing

message 26: by Phil (new) - rated it 1 star

Phil I hated both the book and the movie.

Emily The movie was an insult.

Zachary Annabanana i thought the Razaac looked horrible too instead of one insect monster they were more like thousands of bugs forming a not so cool monster.

Barely Breathing Banana My thoughts exactly, they were absolutely repulsive! And they were so Cliche, Everyone has insect monsters, at least bird monsters are a little more original! Its like Paolini did everything in his power to ruin the movie so the book was amazing in comparison!

Katie Winkler Bad movie

message 31: by K (new) - rated it 3 stars

K Does anybody like the movie? Seriously?

message 32: by Linda (last edited Jul 19, 2012 09:19AM) (new) - rated it 3 stars

Linda Lemons Poeple that have not read the book maybe they like it but I dont know lol. Movie sucked bad.

Barely Breathing Banana Actually, people who havent read the book think it's an amazing movie and should continue, personally, I hated it but thats because I read the book, and expected something way better in both quality and in following the original plot. The only similarity between the books and movie are the names and nothing more.

Cynjit I despise the movie...I loved the book so much...took my students to see it when it came out...and we were almost in tears! Maybe they can redo it at somepoint in the future...like Clash of the Titans...even though the first was was good too!

Barely Breathing Banana I only want it redone once Paolini has passed. I'm sorry to say it, but he probably was the cause of most of the awfulness of the movie since he wanted it to be a replica of the book, and he tried to control it so much that it went way out of his hands and was ruined. I'd like to see a random director who isn't much of a fan remake the movie because that way, they wouldn't feel the need to make everything as it was in the book and it will end up better since it's less controlled and everyone is free to do as they wish to make themselves as comfurtable as possible while playing their parts. I don't know why but I feel that the actors weren't really into it in the making of the movie because they either dont have enough emotion, or they show too much in the wrong scenes.

Gavin I've just recently read and enjoyed Eragon. I've also just finished watching the Eragon movie. I thought it was quite good. It's just a pity that there does not seem to be a sequel planned.

Ed Speleers and Robert Carlyle were fantastic. Jeremy Irons however did look like he would rather have been anywhere else. Sienna Guillory was not how I imagined Arya but I still liked her.

I also had trouble telling Eragon and Roran apart. They really were just like twins in the movie!.

Passed what?.

Georgia My friend loved the movie Eragon until I got her to read the book. Once she had read it I got her to watch the movie again and she said it was horrible.

Ellie i read the book in like 4th grade so i pretty much hated it and never saw the movie

message 39: by Kylie (last edited Jul 20, 2012 01:51PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kylie I probably would have loved the movie if I hadn't read the books. I don't usually mind if the characters' appearance is different than how it is described in the book. It's been awhile since I've read or watched Eragon, but the main reason I disliked it was they skipped over the part where Sapphira destroys the rose crystal thing (don't remember what it's called) that was reeeeaaaaalllllly important to the dwarves during the fight with Durza. The main reason the dwarves joined the war in the second book was because Sapphira managed to repair it. So if the crystal isn't broken and then repaired, the dwarves wouldn't have joined the war and everyone would die. It kind of ruins a movie when parts that are significant to the plot are left out.

Hannah The movie was ok but it was so differnt!! I liked the first time I watched it (before I read the book) and then a couple years later (after I read the book) I din't realli like it because it was so differnt and wasn't a good represtation of the book!

Samuel Eragon was such a dumb movie, if you ask me. The film did not include the duel between Eragon and Arya, nor did it include the the being that talked to Eragon from afar. I think the Ra'zac were different from what they were in the book. And did/does the director have any clue what a DWARF is? They are not supposed to be as tall as Hrothgar was shown to be in the movie.
I thought they picked good actors, though.

Seriously? Sienna Guillory or whatever her name is Arya? No! Absolute no! Eragon is supposed to have brown hair, not blonde. Arya's too old. She looks ugly. And what's with the Ra'zac? No way! Eragon sucks! At least the movie does....

I thought everything downright sucked...when i saw the dwarfs, im like O.O the dwarfs were on steroids! They were WAY to tall to be dwarves!

What!, That's a bit harsh the poor guy is not even 30 yet!.

I'd be open to a remake if that is what it took to get the rest of the series made into movies.

message 47: by Heba (new) - rated it 4 stars

Heba The movie is an absolute disgrace to the books. It needs to be disowned. We Riders, should refuse to consider than movie as a part of the Cycle.

message 48: by Danica (last edited Jul 31, 2012 03:45PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Danica My contempt for this movie is explained absolutely and completey here :
Warning, there may be some bad language.

I love smeghead. He says everthing you are thinking.

Brittany Oldroyd ME! Ugh it was horrible. I'm getting a novel published...everyone always asks me how I'd feel if a movie was made...I say, "As long as they do a better job than Eragon." The Riders were disgraced by that movie. Injustice!

I meant later, like WAY later!! like in 60 years or somethin, i dont want him to die, i just want them to be able to make a movie without his interference and since he's the author, he has the right to interfere
