Eragon

Anybody body else HATE the movie?
i LIKED the movie . Ive read all the books I dont really think they could make a movie exactly the same as eragon because it would have to be at least four hours long
I thought the movie was absolutely awful in comparison with the books! The actors (Murtagh & Eragon) were cute though, but not what I imagined them to be.
All I can say is, I started watching the movie, and then drifted off. The graphics were bad, the characters seemed worse, and don't even get me started on the actual acting. Actually, I'd prefer to forget that they made this movie. Ever.

Have you read the book before or after watching the movie? because if you didnt read the book and you watched the movie, then it may have seemed OK but if you actually read the books before, then youd realize how awful it was

Actually I watched the movie first and so did my dad and we found it horrible, and when we read the book our disgust and hate towards it just grew, it was an insult to put up a movie like that towards a good book. The acting, graphics, cut-scenes, characters not even there, made it what it deserved to be awwfull:(:(:(
Surprisingly, people who have never read the book liked it, I have no idea why though, I could never understand them, I told them to go read the book, they did, and they joined our 'haters' side, I dont know one person who read the book and liked the movie
I disliked it sooooo much. Thank goodness I had already read the book otherwise I wouldn't have touched it.

LOL he doesn't have to die ... he just has to guarantee that he wont interfere, then i bet if they got a good director, the rest would go smoothly, mainly because as long as Paolini isnt involved, they'll go by the 'book' (thats punny =P) and not the author...

I did see the movie first. I watched it back when it was first released. I just read the book last month and enjoyed it. After I finished the book I re-watched the movie and still enjoyed it!.
The movie WAS different from the book but it was good in it's own way.
WHAT?! you liked the movie after reading the book?? Ok, I'll respect that thats your own opinion but may I ask why?
Since I'm not usually the fantasy loving type, I was shocked when I read Eragon. I LOVED it. When I found out there was a movie, I went out and bought it. It was a waste. I HATED it. It was terrible.

Zachary wrote: "I hated it but i almost always hate movies that come from books there always disappointing"I to have a problem with books made into movies. They lose so much detail most of which is important to the storyline. My little grandson bought me Eragon the movie so I won't burn it I just let anyone who wishes watch it; without me. Talk about old fashioned B rated movies. Ya this is one for sure.
Annabanana wrote: "WHAT?! you liked the movie after reading the book?? Ok, I'll respect that thats your own opinion but may I ask why?"I thought it was a fun movie. Nothing mind blowing and not as good as the book but still fun!.

Eragon was not as good a movie as it was a book but I do think there are some exceptions I thought Solaris was a better movie than a book.
I've also recently read and enjoyed The Scarlet Pimpernel. I then rented the 1982 film version and was surprised to find I enjoyed it even more than the book!.
Lol lately I've been in a read the book then watch the movie sort of mood!

I recommend always read the book first. That way you always get the details. There are a few I like a very few. My husband loves the "Eragon" movie but he doesn't read book too very often. While watching the "Twighlight" movies and "eragon" my daughter threatened to gag me till they were over. My biggest question was: Didn't they read the books themselves for cying out loud?
The movie was absolutely horrible. It was the worst summary of the book, because they left out the whole other half of it. By far, the book was the best. Especially since it uses my own imagination.
Joanna wrote: "The movie was absolutely horrible. It was the worst summary of the book, because they left out the whole other half of it. By far, the book was the best. Especially since it uses my own imagination."the books are totally AWESOME!!! Like what I imagine by far compared to the movies.

Zabada wrote: "Do movie producers and directors actually read the books or only the scripts?"I feel the same way about the recent percy jackson movie, It was awful!! worse than Eragon and thats saying something...because while Eragon the movie and book characters were the same, PJO's movie characters were teenagers while the book characters were only children. It messed everything up because the teens seemed awkward acting like children and it also contradicted a lot of other stuff the author previously wrote! I dont think it should be allowed to 'movie-fy' books anymore because people just mess up our own image of the book.

I agree completely.
ohh, have you seen the Avatar the last airbender movie? its not a book, its a TV series but when they made it a movie, it was AWFUL! they didnt even pronounce half the names right!
Annabanana wrote: "ohh, have you seen the Avatar the last airbender movie? its not a book, its a TV series but when they made it a movie, it was AWFUL! they didnt even pronounce half the names right!"I've seen the movie. Thought it was kinda cute for what it was. Never watched the t.v. series. Therfore, I have no compareson. My grandkids ages 8 and under like it. Reminded me of the actions and speaking on past "Power Ranger" series. I didn't take it very seriously. It was for the little ones. LOL!
LOL! my sister watched the whole series thirty times so when the movie came out, she dragged us to the theatres and forced us to watch it...personally i didnt like it much, i though the series was better but she didnt seem to care, then again shes only 8 so i guess it was mean to be a childs movie...now that you mention it, it does remind me of Power Rangers!
Loved the book, I would have liked the movie more if they captured the relationships between the characters. I was really mad at how they underminded Eragon and Brom's relationship. It was like it wasn't important at all!

Rebecca wrote: "Didn't watch it myself, but I made my friend watch it. She said it was so horrible!!!! So...I don't think I'll be watching it."smart idea!
Me too. Hated the movie. Thought it was badly cast. That's what happens when the author has no control over the film. That's what makes Harry Potter so wonderful. JK Rowling insisted on being involved.

He honed the characters as well as their relationship to the story travel book to book. They failed in the first bit of the first movie
YES! I absolutely hated it. I think that the only well done character was the bad guy. He looked exactly how I imagined he would, but everything else was cheaply and quickly made. So disappointing.

Most movies that are based on books are horrible/disappointing. So I didn't expect much from the movie after reading the book.
I first saw the movie when I was about 8. I loved it, being a fan of the Harry Potter books and movies. Last year, my mom made me read Eragon. Then I read Eldest, and I got Brisingr and Inheritance from the library. I loved them! Recently, I was watching Cartoon Network and they showed the movie on there. I was basicly screaming rants at my brother the whole time. He hasn't read the books, so he actually asked me if Durza was a vampire, and I don't blame him. I also have the DS game, which is not too bad, except that it's waaaaay too hard and the graphics are horrible.
Thats so true! My dad kept telling me to shut up and watch the movie but I was like 'What movie? this is the most pathetic excuse for a movie ive ever seen" but then he threatened to not let me finish inheritance so i shut up

60 years!. I hope they get something done long before that because this fan is likely to be to dead to buy a ticket at that point.
I'm still amazed that every single person except me seems to hate this movie. I guess that's why we never got a sequel even though it was a commercial success.
