I read 15 off the combined list in 2015 for a total of 160. Hope to knock off at least another 20 in 2016.

I've read 68 off the most recent combined list. Hoping to up that number in 2016.

207 - I seem to have purchased several books on the list this past year but did not follow through with reading them. Too many new books to enjoy!

Kirin, I'm about even with you with 167. Want to see who gets to 200 first? Just kidding- take your time☺️

Hit a milestone today. Just finished number 450. Hoping to read number 500 by the end of 2016. Half way. Never thought It would be in my grasp.

I'm at 140- having just read David Malouf's "Remembering Babylon"...which I did not like at all. It was on the 2006 list and deservedly taken off the 2008 list.

Haha. According to the app, I'll be done when I'm 82. Fingers crossed I live at least that long. I've read 59 so far.

It's only 25 a year for 40 years, so quite possible but not easy, and better to get an early start.

I bought the book with my Christmas Amazon vouchers. I started off at 56 (yet to make a decision on whether to reread them, I will probably end up rereading the ones I don't remember so well). I finished Crime and Punishment a couple of days ago and I'm now half way through 2001: A Space Odyssey, so I am soon to be on 58!

I'm still hovering about 50, but i have 20 that I "plan" to read this year. Those 20 are all on my shelf so I figured I'd get those out of the way first!

Katherine, 100 would be impressive for someone your age, 200 is amazing. You really have a good chance of reaching 1001!

Thanks George! This is pretty much my hobby, so while my husband watches football, I get to chip away at the list. It works out well for everyone!
I've read 103 of the combined list so far - passed 100 without even realising it (and coincidentally it was a biggie - 'Anna Karenina'!)! Onwards and upwards!

I've only got 16 under my belt. but I'm going to give this list my heart like a bucket list challenge.

Davina wrote: "Only 23, so far. Still ploughing on through :-)" That's a start- you're still young. If you read one a month for 20 yrs that's 240 + the 23 you have already, and you'll still be younger than I am now ;-)

How many have you finished? I'm curious because you pop in on my ipod in the finished thread every other day almost ^^
 32. I haven't fully dedicated my reading to this list yet but that is my plan for when I finish University.

Currently sitting at 255. I've been reading seriously off the list for about a year. Although I read a lot of other books as well. Probably about 60% non list, maybe a bit more.
It slows down my numbers a bit but I like a very wide range and I'm studying a fair amount as well. The list selection can get a little heavy.

I also like some variation, I read non-list too. I love the list though! Do you think you will reach 300 this year?
I'm currently at 48. I have a pile ready to go this year though ^^

Yes, baring some terrible crippling accident I definitely will. This year (sorry, last year!) I wanted to read 89 books from the list (100 but I had Dance to the Music of Time down as 12 rather than 1) and I tallied everything up and after re-reads and so on, my total for the year was 101 new books read from the list.
I'm aiming for another 100 this year with 10 allowed for re-reads and multiple books (I'm going to read The Forstyth Saga for example which is 3 books). So I want to take off another 90 new books from the list.

I've read 304 books from the combined list which leaves me with exactly 1001 books left. Feels like I'm starting all over again!

Are there really people who only read list books? I'm on 39 and from my average of 60-70 books a year, only 10-ish are likely to be list books. The list is just a good reference for picking the next book to read.

The New York Trilogy finished today made 175 I've read that were in the original 1001 List-book. I've also read 2 that were in later lists but not in the original. Just did the math and in the last few years, 60% of my books were Listed, as I've been making an effort to read more of those. Hope to reach 200 in about a year.

As of last night, I've read 70.
