Hello. I'm new to the group. I have only recently discovered this particular list and such a long list somewhat intrigues me. To date I have read only 23 from the 2006 list so quite some distance to travel....

On the all-inclusive combined list, I have just notched up 250. I am feeling really pleased with myself for notching up this little landmark. So many good books read and yet so many more great experiences to come.

78 apparently. Surprised to see so much Ian McEwan on there. I would have put most of them on my list of books NOT. To read!
actually Julie, there are only three books on the 2008/10 lists. 5 were removed in 2008 from the original 2006 edition. Then again, maybe even three would be too much!
41 for me. The number surprised me, though...I thought it would have been higher than that. Then again, it wasn't too long ago that I changed my attitude towards the classics for the better. =)
I've started almost one month ago; I've read 22 of the books -21 of them before I started with the list-. Problem is, there's other books out of the list that catch my attention and I also have to read them. I'm on my 30's now, so I hope to make it some day. I like long-term goals. Anyway, you know the books I read 10 years ago? I don't really remember them. So I can read them again.
Well... I am at 209. And I can only quote W.G. Sebald to show how I have got there thus far.“It is thanks to my evening reading alone that I am still more or less sane.”

I just finished number 50! It is not as much as many of you have read, but a good milestone all the same. Now on to 100...
I'm up to my 35th. It's nice to have this list to choose books from though because I haven't been too disappointed in what I've read yet or given up!
Currently reading my 108th, haven't read any for a while but it's time to start getting into them again.

Thanks. Looks like I'm a day late and a dollar short. :(
My personal bookshelf says I've read 110, but I know I've read more than that. Going to have to compare my read file & see which ones I may have missed marking as 1001 books....
Lisa I'd do it now before your list of books read and not marked gets so long it takes hours to sort.
196 for me. Only need 4 more to reach my goal for the year which isn't bad but still a far cry from Deanne's incredible accomplishment.Dbolden, for someone as young as you are that is a terrific accomplishment. Congratulations!
Just hit 97 with The Grass is Singing by Doris Lessing. Currently reading number 98 (Sometimes a Great Notion by Ken Kesey) and so yearning for that 100 mark!
I'm currently reading my 157th (The Lover by Duras). It's finally starting to feel like I have made a dent in the list!
I just finished my 115th list book, but want to make it to 125 by the end of the year. We shall see!
