Thanks Cheryl and Maria. I'll have to slow down soon as I don't have the books yet for most of the remaining categories. I'm hoping to pick up a couple from the library after I move later this month.
Cheryl in CC NV wrote: "Good luck with your move - hope you like your new digs!"Thanks Cheryl. We really like our new house and neighborhood. I just want to get through all the work we're having done and the move so I can enjoy them.
Whew. I managed to get my blue book from the library. That was a good thing as we've just moved and I don't have space for all of my books as it is. And it got me started back on wanting to read library books instead of just buying them all.
Libraries are good things. I'm struggling to read my owned books, several hundreds of them, and get them out of the apartment, because I know we're going to be moving in a few years (empty nest coming on). That's why I'm doing so well on these challenges - Janice makes it feasible for me to find books I own to read for them. This Olympic Toppler now, I'm not sure what I can read for Judy.... :)

Of course, I also have a ton of books and even more ebooks. However, as I find books I want to read that I don't own, I need to switch to libraries rather than my pocketbook. The amount I spend on books each year is amazing.
Are you looking forward to downsizing your home? I hated the moving process as still have some things at my old house I need to pick up (but have nowhere to put). In some ways I'm fortunate as we're selling to a family member who is renting for a couple of months while her credit clears up. At the same time, I wish we had the money from the sale.
It can be really hard to downsize. We did quite a bit when we moved from the house to this apartment last year, as we also went from 5 people to 3. The last kid gone and the books will make a big difference and I do look forward to being 'lighter.' I'm very sensitive to clutter and crowded shelves, so yes I am looking forward to it. I hope keeping the house in the family like that works out. I admire your courage, taking a chance and helping her out somewhat. I've been burned every time I tried to help someone, but then I've been too trusting and not gotten anything signed or anything, either.

Of course, I think that there is no such thing as too many books. However, I do clean out my library every once in a while. I still have a lot, but can remove a good number.
My niece has a lot of other family support through the process. She is young and has not been terribly careful with her credit, but she is pretty responsible, so I'm not worried.
