Jessica (guiltypleasure22) | 12 comments Delayed introduction: hi everyone! I'm Jessica. I got into Linda Howard when Goodreads kept pointing me to Mr Perfect, and I went on a bit of a rampage. I'm about 2/3 through her library and am savoring the rest slowly. I ended up particularly enjoying her survival books and Blair Mallory. I'm a doctor, and happily spend long stretches of time in the hospital. At home, I love to relax with humor, romance, and great stories. Looking forward to discussions here!

Eve (everf) | 815 comments Cheerful welcome, Jessica!
Its good to meet fellow Mr. Perfect fans (Sam and Jaine...one of my favorite couples). Love stories with smart and witty heroines and heroes who are sexy, daring, yet caring and respectable. And some supense/mystery was added bonus.

White Lies was really good one. The setup for the story was intriguing and pretty unusual.

Chow Claudia, Your English seems good to me. I am so glad you have joined our little group. I love Linda Howard too.

Eve (everf) | 815 comments Warm Welcome, Claudia 🌹🌺🌻🌷
Its good to see that our group gets more and more international (I'm from Estonia). Linda Howard has fans in many, many countries and her work has been translated into many languages.

Reading books in English is good language practice. It gets easier to read them after some time and you no longer have to wait till books are translated into your language.

Penelope | 38 comments Hi! I’m Penelope. Besides reading I enjoy trail bike riding, gardening, swimming & scuba diving. I’ve been reading Linda Howard novels (it seems like) forever, but just joined Goodreads recently. Many of Linda Howard book’s are among my “all time favorites.” I prefer humor & action/adventure in my reading (rather than angst) so the Blair duo, Mr Perfect, & Veil of Night are favorites as well as Prey, Up Close & Dangerous, Midnight Rainbow, Heart of Fire & Shadow Woman.
I thought this might be a good place to look for recommendations of other authors writing a similar style to Killing Time, Dream Man & Son of the Morning (Fantasty, light Paranormal, Time Travel). I look forward to seeing what other ppl here are reading.

message 474: by Eve (new)

Eve (everf) | 815 comments Welcome to the group Penelope. Its always wonderful to meet fellow Linda Howard fans and this is perfect place to discuss her books and discover new authors :)

I also prefer books that include humor, so Blair duo and Mr. Perfect are perfect. If you haven't read Open Season, yet, then this will fit into this category perfectly. Love how versatile Linda Howard is. Also highly recommend her Cry No More. Its more angsty, but the heroine of this story is so strong and admirable. Definitely worth to read.

Other authors to recommend: Susan Elizabeth Phillips (humor, drama, character growth).

message 476: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (ftbooklover) Hi all. I'm a newbie here. I've read almost everything Linda Howard has written, so I thought this group sounded like it would be right up my alley. I love romantic suspense, but I also read middle grade and young adult fiction - especially mysteries. I came to Goodreads via Shelfari a few years ago. Looking forward to some good reading.

Eve (everf) | 815 comments Great to meet new members. Welcome :)

The Bibliophile Doctor Hi all, this is Neha here. I recently discovered Linda Howard and I'm in love with her books. I have read few so far and I liked cry no more, mr perfect my favorite would be after the night. Which one i should read next!?

message 480: by Eve (new)

Eve (everf) | 815 comments Hi, Neha.
I see you liked After the Night. So you will probably like The Mackenzie Series and Shades of Twilight.
If you liked Mr. Perfect, then try Open Season, this one also has sassy heroine and good banter.
If you liked Cry No More, then try Death Angel, unique protagonists and plot.
If you want some spy stuff, then Kiss Me While I Sleep (good to read in the middle of worldwide pandemic ;) ).

message 481: by Sabrina Khondaker (new)

Sabrina Khondaker | 10 comments Hi, I’m a huge fan of LH. Have read most of her books multiple times. I’ve been looking for a group like this where I can talk to people who share my love for LH books. A few of my most favorite books are Mr. Perfect, Now you see her, Open Season, Shades of Twilight.

message 482: by Eve (new)

Eve (everf) | 815 comments Hi, Sabrina! Great to meet fellow LH fans!
The books you mentioned are my favorites too. I've read Mr. Perfect and Open Season so many times, that I've lost count how many times exactly ;) I love good-natured and witty bantering between the h&H. Its good when author add some humor to her story.
Have you read LH's latest, After Sundown?

message 483: by Emily (new)

Emily Rushing | 1 comments Hey everyone! My name is Emily. I just joined GoodReads, but I have been using the website for awhile to find new books. I absolutely love suspenseful or quirky romance, however, I am pretty picky about the authors I read. I love Linda Howard's dangerous hunks, Rachel Gibson's jaded hockey players, and Lisa Kleypas' wallflowers turned 'bad girl'. Unfortunately I haven't been able so an author who has the same style of writing. I hope this group can help me find some reading material that satisfies my not-so-guilty pleasure!

Janeiowa | 5009 comments I suggest Rosalind James and her rugby players…her Escape to New Zealand series. The first one is just $.99
