Mystique | 17 comments What I liked:
-great plot line
-could connect with characters
-story spread over a series of books, but doesn't fail to keep the reader intrigued
-liked the whole idea of the arranged "capture"
-well, I like virgin heroines...so I guess that could work too;)

what was ok:
-it wasn't exactly paranormal, but hinted at supernatural elements of priests in the tribe...personally, the book could have had been a paranormal-romance to make it better
-not very steamy sex scenes, could have been better(one of the reasons I hesitate to read YA)...it's either too much sex and too little romantic moments in adult romance or the opposite in YA romance books.

P.S. I would really...really...prefer that the couples stay as the main leads throughout the entire series...For example, not like the Black Dagger Brotherhood...

Thank you in advance for replying;)

Sally (larwos) | 258 comments As always, the first series that springs to mt mind is the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Wonderful story with superb characters who continue through all seven so far of the series and a love story to blow your socks off! Time travel is the basis and DG is a brilliant researcher who bring the history of the times to life.

Shirla Ghadaki (sjghadaki) | 21 comments I just finished a trilogy by Linda Mooney that I really liked. It is a little bit like the War Prize books. The first is "The Battle Lord's Lady', 2nd is "The Battle Lord's Desire" and the 3rd is "The Battle Lord's Heart". Now I am working my way through the other books by her.

Ms.soule (mrssoule) I read Dragon Bound this month and that has elements of the capture, great characters & plot. It is definitely paranormal rather than fantasy, so if the "other world" feel of Warprize is something you really liked, you won't get that with Dragon Bound.

The Blue Sword is almost exactly like Warprize, but much more geared toward a young adult audience with romance but absolutely no sex.

I've never read these books, but the Fantasyland series by Kristen Ashley sounds like it might fit your bill, especially the 2nd in the series, The Golden Dynasty. The first book, Wildest Dreams, has much lower rankings. Maybe someone else in the group can vouch for these?

S.C. Mitchell (scmitchell) Duality (Guardians of the Light #1) by Renee Wildes
I loved Elizabeth Vaughan's Warprize series. I just finished Duality by Renee Wildes and found it similar. There appear to be 5 books in the series to date and I plan to pick them all up.

Jai | 81 comments Mrs. Soule made great recommendations. I read the Kristen Ashley series she wrote of and loved it. ( The Golden Dynasty (Fantasyland, #2) by Kristen Ashley was my favorite of the three.)

The Robin McKinley book -- The Blue Sword (Damar, #1) by Robin McKinley -- is also brilliant.

For something along similar lines, you might try Laura Jo Phillips' series, which starts with The Dracons' Woman (The Soul-Linked Saga #1) by Laura Jo Phillips . It's got the innocent-to-a-new-world theme, culture she doesn't understand, hunted and threatened, etc.

And now I have more books to add to my TBR.

Vanessa (vanessacoutu) | 4 comments This is a stand alone book, but it might fit in. Master of Crows it is a cross between fantasy and PNR.

namericanwordcat | 231 comments I read The Battle Lord's Lady This is very much like Warprize and good.

Mystique | 17 comments I have tried the tairen soul series and loved it! (one of my most favorite fantasy-romance series)...I have also tried Linda Mooney with her battle lord series, which was quite original and creative with the world building, but not a lot of character development.
Anyways, I was wondering if there was any series that I haven't read yet that fully fulfills the criteria that I posted at the beginning of this discussion...It would be perfect if it was similar to tairen soul, warprize or the battle lord series!

thx for the awesome recommendations and for taking your time to comment;)
