Last Reminders:

Two days more to go so please be informed or reminded of the following:

1. Don't come to Uncle Cheffy too early. There will be a 1-5pm wedding reception at the Banquet Hall (where we will hold our event) so they have to clear the area first. However, since our event will officially start at 5:30pm, we can use the resto area. They know that we have two guest authors who will sign books and strike posts with us. They also know that we will be noisy and rowdy.

I think coming to the area at 5:25pm is the best time. Manix said that he will be there before 5:30pm. Baka naman mauna pa sya at wala tayo. Cary, take note. (^_-)

2. Food Buffet: panizza (appetizer), salad, roasted chicken, brick oven baked sole fillet, spaghetti, steamed rice. Then you have a choice between one round of chilled orange or lemon or freshly brewed oolong iced tea. If you order the chilled orange or lemon juice, it's not refillable. The one which is refillable is the oolong iced tea. If you have food restrictions, order for yourself, but charge to your personal account.

Take only what you can eat. There's enough for everyone but be mindful of others who haven't arrived yet. You can go back if there are still food left after all the 47 of us have eaten. Hopefully, this will also encourage everyone to be on-time. Baka kayo maubusan LOL. (^o^)

Forgive me, but this is our first F2F with buffet so di ko alam ang behavior ng bawa't isa kapag ganito. I hope you don't mind me reminding all of us. Naka-formal pa naman tayo then yong plato natin punong-puno ng pagkain na parang walang bukas. LOL ulit.

3. Noise. Respect and pay attention when somebody is talking especially in front. Especially our guests, Angus (who spent many, many hours to make this event memorable), etc. We have the Socials (5:30-6:00pm) to make kuwento to others and we also have the Break (7:45-8:00pm) for that. You can also talk to your katabi during dinnertime. Also, if you want to order your own food, please do that during that Break. Let's say nagugutom ka na dahil bitin ang dinner mo. But take note of your bill and if possible, ask the waiter to bill you separately and tell him that you will pay right away. Mahirap mag-himay kapat sama-sama na dahil may tax. Baka may mag-abuno ulit.

4. For your make up session or while waiting for 5:25pm, I suggest the following cheap places:

* Dunkin' Donuts at El Pueblo (where we had our July event last year). It is in between Rack's and Shakey's. Minsan, nagco-conduct pa dito ng walk in interview ang Convergys so puwede ka pang magpa-interview at tingnan kung papasa ka sa kanilang call center.

* McDo at El Pueblo - two floors so puwede kang di mapansin na matagal ka na roon.

* Mandarin Wok - we had our post-discussion meeting during the July event. Minsan lang pag di ka nago-order, di nila binubuksan ang aircon.

* CBTL - the F2F Jane Eyre location.

* Starbucks, KFC, Mang Inasal, etc - the locations for the post F2Fs. Baka lang mangamoy ulam ka LOL ulit.

6. Safety. We will leave the place at 11pm. Please take the necessary precautions. There are many taxis along Emerald. If you leave in a far flung (sobra naman yata ang word na ito) province, please consider sleeping over at somebody's house. Those of you who are planning to drink the early morning away, there are good places to drink:

- Burough's at Podium (expensive nga lang)
- Congo Grill (not sure the closing hours)
- Mandarin Wok (ditto)
- Cafe Go Go (up to 4am)
- Sidebar at El Pueblo (expensive din)
- Tubbsy's - a small affordable karaoke bar that has karaoke at El Pueblo
- or somewhere at MetroWalk

Likewise, that UNO or board games, you can do those during socials, breaktime or during the post-discussion (palengke) meetup. I suggest McDo Emerald. I am sure they are open 24 hrs. Starbucks I think is only open up to 4am.

7. Attire. Formal or semi-formal. Or come as you please wag lang naka-rubber shoes, maong, t-shirt, slippers, shorts, etc. Nakakahiya naman sa mga nag-effort. Try lang nating magbihis ng maganda para maiba. Pero not to the extent na di ka na lang a-attend kasi wala kang magandang isusuot o bibili ka pa at magkakagastos unnecessarily. OA yon.


8. Be nice to everyone. Don't forget that we are all friendly people here in GR-TFG. We are doing this for fun (no pressures). We are all bonded by our love for books and life. We are family (sabi nga ni Jzhun). And we want to stay that way.

We only have 35 copies. Since there are 47 attendees, I'm afraid not everyone will be able to get one. So here's the priority list:

01 - for Mina V. Esguerra
01 - for the birthday celebrator
01 - for each honor student in my class (Note: he/she must be present at the F2F.) (Note again: if you are a contributor and an honor student, you still only get one copy. Huwag matakaw! :D)
02 - for students who passed their contributions after the deadline (you know who you are)

So that's 30 copies reserved. I don't know what to do with the remaining 5. Options are:

1. Justify why you deserve a copy.
2. Raffle.
3. "Perform" well at the F2F (to be judged by the moderators).
4. Book wrestling.
5. Auction. Bidding starts at Php100. Chos!
