Sinabi ko naman sa iba na may Remains sa Podium, so malamang wala pang bumibili. I bought mine at P549.00

About Manix Abrera

I just received an email from him this morning. He confirmed that would be at Uncle Cheffy to sign your books (by him of course) starting at 5:30pm. He confirmed what Jzhun said that he took time to sign because he puts some doodles also. So, we can have our 30-min socials with him if you are a fan and with ourselves if you are not. We can also use this time to shoot our personal pictures with him. Take note the "we" and "our" kasi I am his fan too!!!
About Mina V. Esguerra

I have not talked to Mina yet but based on last year, she came in about on time. So at 5:30pm, I hope we don't all rush to Manix. We also have Mina with us.
Having said that, please read Mina's books too. I think it is a sign of respect to our invited guests (especially if he/she is also a member of this group. Well, Mina is!!!) that we read their works. Mura lang books ni Mina P150 or P175 pero sulit naman at madaling basahin. Chick lit na di nakaka-offend ng sensibility ng isang lalaki hak hak.

THAT KIND OF GUY - ito yong latest na binebenta sa NBS for P175

NO STRINGS ATTACHED
- nakikita ko pa rin ito sa NBS (P150)

MY IMAGINARY-EX
- last time di ko na nakikita ito, pero ito yong una kong nabasa na sinulat nya
There are books that are available in ebook form lang (sad, sad). Pero if you have ebook reader or you have the patience reading online, try these too:

KD, print versions of her ebooks can be ordered here: http://minavesguerra.multiply.com/
It's a bit too expensive compared to the ones out in the bookstores, but it's a good buy for fans. :) (And Fairy Tale Fail and Interim Goddess of Love are cute books!).
Also, there are still some copies of My Imaginary Ex available in some NBS branches, selling for Php75. :)

Hello there!
In line with The Remains of the Day book discussion on July 28, I'd like to ask you a big favor. Since you confirmed your attendance on that day, would you mind if you share a persistent memory, a personal tale, or a life snippet that is about any of the following:
Love
Loss
Hope
Regret
If you don't mind it at all or if you want to consider it, please read the guidelines below:
01. Your contribution can be a combination of the themes above (lost love, etc.).
02. Your contribution will be anonymous and it will not be discussed openly during the discussion (unless you are willing to do so).
03. Your contribution does not need to be long or stylistic, but we would appreciate it if you put a little effort in it.
04. It may also have any tone or mood (sad, funny, bittersweet, crazy, etc.)
05. If you feel like being poetic, you may send a poem.
06. Acceptable word count is 150-200 words. That's shorter than most of the reviews that we write. But if you are willing to go beyond and shoot for say 500 words, that would be wonderful (but please let's not make it too long).
07. Please provide a title, preferably one word.
08. Deadline is on July 15, 2012, 12 noon.
You may want to approach this activity as a self-reflection or to view it as an intimate conversation with your best friend. You have my assurance that you will be anonymous.
I will patiently wait for your response. I hope it will be a favorable one. Thank you so much!
Regards,
Angus
PS,
You may send your pieces by sending me a private message. :)

This is not required, but I appreciate anything. Currently, I have 20-something promises. I hope they won't be broken. :)

Angus: Just sent mine. :)

Hahaha. Then I deleted it.

In case you either originally said "no", you haven't responded yet or you did not receive an invitation and you want to attend, please tell (here or PM to me). We have vacant slots so we can consider a 2-3 more including newbies.
Likewise, if you originally said "yes" and now you think you can no longer attend (due to fortuitous events hak hak - fortuitous raw o!) please tell also so we can invite other interested attendees. I hope you don't do this though. This F2F is one momentous event for our group- dressed up and all!!! hak hak
You have until Saturday July 7th to do this.
Go, going....

Sure thing! :) I'll text you if/when I find one. :)

I feel your pain. I'm eagerly awaiting the opening of Fully Booked in the South, pero mukhang matagal pa eh. :(

Pede rin in-character ka na either butler, footman or housemaids:

* if this is a problem for you, just don't come in maong, tshirt or rubber shoes. Kasi may picture-taking.
3. Come on time.
4. Read the books of our guests so we can have good interactions with them. Bring your copies so you can have the authors sign them. We will also have our group pictures with them.

For questions or suggestions, please ask here or email me.
In case you have schedule conflicts, please think twice. This will be another momentous group event. Seriously, please tell as soon as possible.
See you all on the 28th!!! *excited*

1) Ushers for the guests. Parang butler role lang.
2) Nametags (kasi may guests)
3) Souvenir program (if you think this is a good idea)
Please let me know if you are interested to help on these 3.
The arrangement of the room is two long tables with the speaker in front/middle. There will be an audio, microphones and screen projector.
There are two ways to get to the banquet hall of Uncle Cheffy. By using the stairs if you are entering from Ruby Road or via the elevator if you are passing by the main entrance of Wynsum. If by the elevator, it will bring you straight to the venue. So, wag magulat kung biglang bumulaga sa inyo ay kami na!!!
6:15 is dinner and by 10pm baka gutom na kayo. Puwede ring mag-order ng snacks to the waiter but charge to your personal account na. We can also have snacks somewhere along Emerald Ave at 11pm. There are 24-hr outlets there.
Angus, please edit message 1 to reflect the final schedule of activities.

Hahaha. Then I deleted it."
hahaha! ayaw i-share ang kanyang experience?

Final na yang schedule of activites mo K.D., ha.
No more revisions.

For your pieces (or your theses), you still have six days. For those who promised to submit their contributions, kung okay lang i-submit na agad? Medyo busy sa work ngayon, hirap akong isingit sa work load ko. Thanks. I hope you understand. :D

Final na Jzhun. Si DC na ang nag-volunteer sa name tags at sya rin ang usher para kay Manix. Meaning sya ang laging katabi ni Manix.
Anyone for Mina?
I am currently inviting 2-3 newbies. Hinihintay ko pa ang sagot nila. Gusto ko itong isarado sa 50 kasi sabi ng Uncle Cheffy by tens hak hak.

Three more days before the deadline for the requested assignment. I am not forcing you. This is simply a reminder for those who promised to submit something and for those who are quietly intending to make a contribution. I might also send individual reminders for those who replied to the initial broadcast regarding this (for those who do not frequent the threads).
Someone said that this is the toughest assignment yet, so I will be really grateful to everyone who will contribute. Thanks! :)

Aha, if you can convince DC to do a swap, that would be great.
Tina and Ella have their respective assignments already.

Tricia may have my role :) I'm open to helping out in another way :D

edit: deleted the link para daw surprise, hahaha! :)

Tricia, I think you can have Manix and DC can usher Mina. I think this is better because DC will also be busy giving out the name tags (thanks again, DC) to the attendees during the event. You see, this is Mina's second time so she knows people already. This will be Manix's first.
Just for fun: Do you know that Manix's real name is "Manuel"?
and the "F" in F. Sionil Jose? Does anyone know?

Cool :)
K.D. wrote: "Tricia wrote: "DC! I was just kidding :P baka ma-tongue-tied naman ako pag andyan na si Manix sa tabi ko. Haha I'll be your underbutler, DC :PPP"
Ok, KD :)
Hahaha, kung ma-tongue-tied ka, Tricia, sabihin mo na lang na ine-emulate mo ang 12. O nag-hahanda ka maging Bertong Badtrip :P

Final usherettes (butlers):
Tricia to Manix
DC to Mina
Nametags: c/o DC
Program: Jzhun
Angus, if you want to see the place, I can treat you to dinner there sometime next week. Please let me know your availability. I am open on Friday if the (my) other plan will not push through. Po, you can join us since you are the welcoming officer.
All: Don't forget to start taking out your formal wear from your closet. Have them dry cleaned now. I will be doing that today. I am planning to wear my 3-piece suit (if it fits me still) and I am thinking of buying a cheap bow tie. I've never wore a bow tie in my life.

You have exactly 24 hours left before the deadline. I think others still intend to submit their pieces. I have seven members in mind, tops. Pero baka tatlo na lang ang humabol; I'm not sure about the others who promised (based on my knowledge of their personalities). Of course I will not name them.
So far, so good. I am so happy, so grateful, so honored! Some members said that this is the toughest assignment yet, but they also said that despite the difficulty, it is a chance for us to look back, reevaluate our lives, and face certain realities.
Yung iba, effort talaga, like it took them from two hours to two days to finish their pieces. I took three days myself because paputol-putol ko siyang ginawa.
To help those who are trying to beat the deadline, here are a few tips:
1. Your piece need not be utterly personal.
2. Your piece need not be super stylistic.
3. Your piece may be in English or Filipino.
4. Your piece may run from 50 words to over 500 words.
5. Your piece may be any random thing, just make sure that it touches on any, but not necessarily all themes: Love, Loss, Hope, Regret.
So final check ko na bukas. To those who submitted their assignments, you don't know how much my understanding of each of you deepened. Feeling ko close ko na kayong lahat. *tears
