Maybe it would have been more understandable if the awesome power of Tigana had actually been discussed rather then us just having to take a gigantic leap of faith.

I dont know if that would have been enough for me to buy it. People are suffering, in fact they are causing just as much suffering if not more, for what? A name? Some history? Its not selling me on rooting for this band of malcontents to be a governing faction.

Move on already. But then there would be no book. Oh hey, maybe there could be some focus on some real heroes or freedom fighters.
