Kara @ Melanie-I've had the discarded heroes series on my shelves for a year waiting to get all of them before reading them, but decided that I FINALLY need to read them :) You started with Firethorn??!! Was it awesome?

@ Aerykah-I knew I would love these books, thanks for your comments :) I will have my tissues ready when I get to Firethorn, but I cried in Nightshade so I'm sure I'll need tissues for ALL of them!! Yay, so happy you've started Talon!! I have it also, but need to get through Discarded Heroes first :)

Will be starting Digitalis (Discarded Heroes #2) by Ronie Kendig next, LOOOOVE Ronie's books!!!!

@Aerykah LOL! I wish I hadn't read book four first, but I had gotten it for review and didn't have the first three yet... so, yeah, I'm reading them out of order. :/ I think I cried while reading that book too...

Ya'll are making me want to read this series right now. :) Hopefully I'll be able to get to them this summer. :D

message 412: by Aerykah (new)

Aerykah | 1404 comments Yeah... each of the books have sad parts, but Firethorn had a REALLY SAD part. I don't usually cry in books, but I had tears literally rolling down my face.
Trinity was GREAT! And I'm really enjoying Talon so far. :)
Which of her books have you read?

message 413: by Melanie, ✞Moderator, Avid Reader, & Blogger ✞ (new)

Melanie, you seem to be on a roll lately when it comes to reading! Which is more than I can say for myself. No time to read lately. Plus, I've not found anything REALLY interesting. Waiting for the books I'm excited about to arrive!

@Ganise I've felt the same way the past few weeks. Haven't been reading as much as I usually do and a few of the books I've read took a while to really grab my attention. Super excited about my next two reads, though. :)

What books are you waiting to receive??

message 421: by [deleted user] (new)

Melanie :

Not reading as much as you usually do?? And here I was thinking you're practically a champion at this. You read what, 6 books per week? What are your next two reads?

The books I'm excited to read :

Undeniably Yours by Becky Wade
Catch A Falling Star by Beth Vogt
Stealing the Preacher by Karen Witemeyer
Shattered - Dani Pettrey
Duchess - Susan May Warren
A Charmed Life - Jenny B. Jones

And more I think!

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) | 9915 comments Mod
I usually can read around 4 books per week. Last week I (just) finished 3 and I was already halfway done with two of them...

My next two reads are: Once Upon a Prince by Rachel Hauck & There You'll Find Me by Jenny B. Jones - just need to finish Girl in the Gatehouse before I start Once Upon a Prince. :)

Oooohhh!!! Stealing the Preacher, Shattered, and Duchess are FANTASTIC reads! I've heard great things about Undeniably Yours and Catch a Falling Star... A Charmed Life looks like a good book, too. :) Great list of books, Ganise. :D

message 423: by [deleted user] (new)

I've been hearing so much about Once Upon a Prince that I'll definitely be reading it too. I read There You'll Find Me last year, I think. You might want to grab tissues!! I gave it five stars though because I thought it was well-written.

I've heard they are fantastic, too! Right alongside Wade's and Vogt's latest. So exciting!

Thank you! I think it's a great list too!! :)

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) | 9915 comments Mod
Glad you gave it five stars! Tissues? Hopefully that's for happy tears and not because the story is sad. :)

message 425: by [deleted user] (new)

It tackles heavy issues! If I remember correctly, I was pretty surprised while reading it, because even though there is often a rough side to Jones' stories - the sprinkling of humor usually covers that a bit ( Save the Date for example... you read that one?). But in T.Y.F.M, I found the problems quite raw. There is humor though... good humor. Anyways, I'll let you form an opinion of your own. Curious to read your thoughts.

Oh... now I'm even more interested in reading it. :) I haven't read Save The Date yet - There You'll Find Me will be my first Jenny B. Jones' book. :D

This is my 3rd time through The Edge of Recall. I like to get audio books that I've listened to before & listen to them at night when I'm going to bed. It's a nice switch from the radio & I know I won't be too worried about missing out on something important in the story because I've read/heard it before. ;)
Anyway, it's a really good book! I gave it 5 stars. :)

As for the others... They were all pretty good. Talon: Combat Tracking Team is definitely the best, though. I can't wait to read book 3 in that series! I think I was more interested in Timbrel & Candyman's story than I was anything else. ;)

@Aerykah I've done that before too (listen to books I've already read when I'm going to bed). Yeah, Talon looks really good. :)
