Kat (katzombie) | 2478 comments Well I didn't finish any books today, but I'm time-zone-challenged ;-) But I've made a good start on one, and 70% through another so I'll definitely have a book to tally up tomorrow!

I have drunk 4 cups of tea though, so that's 2 points .

Keep reading everyone!

Just think of it as drinking your eight 8 ounce glasses of water per day requirement, only with better flavor!

Er, I mean...don't force yourself to drink anything...You are getting sleepy, Sleepy...Close your eyes...Go to Sleep, don't read or drink anything.

Maria (aminowrimo) | 463 comments Hi, guys!

How about we be REALLY REALLY nice to Judy and adopt this template? It makes her life much easier, AND, on top of that, makes it MUCH faster to total our points, which means Judy gets more reading in, which means WE get more points! (I see no downside!)

Just look through the thread, edit your first post to use the template and then edit your other posts to include lovely encouraging messages or delete them. When you want to add in more points, simply edit your first post again! If you're not sure how to USE the template, simply look at Judy's or my post, or really ANYONE who's using the template.

Please don't post more than one post unless absolutely necessary! It clutters up the thread and makes Judy's job just as hard.

Joe | 93 comments Just updated my point totals. Finally finished a book and ready to go!

I've found a way to read the 800+ page Poe book and feed my baby boy at the same time. Thank God for iTunes U, which has a podcast of all of his short stories and poems read out loud. I simply listen to the story until my son is done eating and then go back to reading. Plus, maybe having each story read aloud will stimulate my son! (If he's 'goth' later on in life, I'll blame these Poe read-aloud moments...!) :)

My wife says I'm crazy trying to try and read this book in one week since she said it took her 2 years to read as an English major in college. I say she may be right, but I don't have to write papers and discuss the book at length to finish it!

That's what I've been doing, just changing the information each day on the initial post. It keeps this thread shorter so Judy doesn't have to search as much.

message 37: by Mikki (last edited Jun 13, 2012 09:57PM) (new)

Mikki Me too. All people need to do is delete all of the older posts and then keep their most recently updated. From there just edit instead of creating new posts. Keeps the thread shorter and then we're able to see how well our team mates are doing!

Another way to keep the thread shorter for Judy is to move all the chitchat to the discussion thread! I'm guilty too. :)

I have just noticed that for both my borrowed I got 6 Judy. I put 11 as isn't it 5 doubled for the second? Sorry - my brain doesn't always work!

message 42: by Amber (new)

Amber Totals for Wednesday and Thursday:

Something old: Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein 5 points, 1 point for being under 300 pages.

Something new: Sacre Bleu A Comedy d'Art by Christopher Moore 5 points, 3 points for 400+ pages

Something blue: November Blues (Jericho, #2) by Sharon M. Draper 5 points, 2 points for being 300+ pages.

2 points for 4 cuppas.

I've completed the Whole Enchilada, which I believe adds 10 points (can't go back to that screen until I post my comment). And tomorrow I have another book to read to add both the trilogy points (my Something Borrowed and Something Blue are the first two books of the trilogy) and some extra points for doubling up on a category. I haven't had as much reading time as I'd hoped for this week, but I've read all of the categories, so that's a good accomplishment.

**Tomorrow night I'll be able to access GR from a computer and see all of my posts at once and check my final total and compare it to what you've got Judy. I've had to do this all on my phone this week, and for some reason AT&T service has been less than stellar (can't say I'm surprised), so toggling between screens has become almost impossible.

Amber Friday update:

Finished my second 'Something Borrowed' Just Another Hero (Jericho, #3) by Sharon M. Draper (5 points), but it was only 280 pages (1 point), and I drank 4 cuppas (2 points), for a total of 8 points. This title was the 3rd in Sharon M. Draper's trilogy, so I'll add the 5 points there's for a total of 13 points, bringing my grand total up to 53.5. Now we'll see how many more I can plow through tonight!

Mikki Amber, if that's your 2nd Something Borrowed then it's worth 10 points + 1 point for being under 300 pps = 11 pts.

Trilogy gives you 5 bonus points for a total of 16 points earned on Friday.

Nice work!
