Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 2484 comments Shelf!

I don't know why I'm in a hurry since I haven't finished the first shelf yet.

message 404: by D.G. (new)

D.G. | 2752 comments LOL, Mary! Me neither! But I want to know whether I'll be able to read one of the books I got from the library which I can't renew.

LOL, very likely judging from how some things were shelved on YA Paranormal -- sheesh, somehow I don't consider Laurell K. Hamilton and the well-hyped/most-groups-reading Fifty Shades of Grey as belonging there

LOL I'm pretty sure that Fifty Shades of Grey is basically the definitely of NOT-young-adult....

message 407: by D.G. (last edited Jun 22, 2012 12:29PM) (new)

D.G. | 2752 comments LOL, Deborah. You may be right. I belong to a group where we pick a shelf to read each month and Harry Potter always shows up no matter the shelf. Supposedly someone found HP in American History!

These two books really fit the group so I think unless the dragons or demons bookshelves are called, I should be fine.

message 408: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 2484 comments That's why I want to know too. I have a pbs game book to read that works for a few shelves. It's a doorstopper too but I don't want to start it incase it works for the next shelf.

message 409: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Fifty Shades is on the YA Paranormal shelf? There something seriously disturbing about that...

message 410: by AH (new)

AH | 2271 comments Lauren wrote: "Fifty Shades is on the YA Paranormal shelf? There something seriously disturbing about that..."

There's always a few weird shelf choices. I noticed the 50 shades and LKH books too. In the spirit of the game, I chose to read a young adult paranormal rather than choosing something that was "mis-shelved".

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 9662 comments Someone has weird shelving rules. I guess that maybe the first LKH book could do but still.

Mandy Beyers (mandybeyers) | 346 comments Lauren wrote: "Fifty Shades is on the YA Paranormal shelf? There something seriously disturbing about that..."

I wonder if someone shelved Fifty Shades because of its tenuous link to Twilight.... Of course, that person/people have obviously not actually read it yet!

message 413: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 2484 comments The last time I played, I noticed a bunch of non-paranormal historical romances on the vampire shelf. Many of them were books I had read myself and knew for a fact that they didn't have vampires in them. I decided that I would take AH's approach and not read a book that was obviously mis-shelved.

So glad you're psyched to join (and WELCOME to SOS!). This round's players are set, but Steph can see about putting you in as a stand-by player. This round just started up, but there will definitely be a round 6 at some point and we hope you can join in then! Do hang out and enjoy with us, though!

Wet shirts can prove interesting too. Maybe all the duds will get nice and clingy.

message 429: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 2484 comments I'm hoping it comes before I leave for my road trip tomorrow. If I have an audiobook that will work for the next shelf then I can get a good 6 hrs of it done in the car tomorrow.

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 2179 comments Wet tshirts contest sounds more interesting than waiting for shelf announcement.
