I'm really loving it so far. What an amazing girl!

I enjoyed her story

The best trilogy EVER!
Other books that I've fairly recently finished and loved:

Take note, I'm very picky with my westerns. I love all of Karen Witemeyer's books!
Top three of all the Christian fiction novels I've read so far:

Have you read any books by Mary Connealy? She's great too! :)

and I really REALLY want to read this one:

Have you read any books by Francine Rivers? I just read her Mark of the Lion trilogy (the best trilogy I've read so far), and I've read her Sons of Encouragement series. They are awesome!

No, I haven't. My sis-in-law has the Mark Of The Lion trilogy and has offered more than once to let me read it, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I guess I should... ;)

They are very good, Aerykah. You really should try them. :-)

Mark of the Lion trilogy is my favorite ALL-TIME biblical fiction (though not a biblical story--it's set in New Testament times) and runs a close second to Redeeming Love for favorite read ever!

Which fantasy YA are you reading?
Yeah, I might go ahead & try it.
Have you read the A.D. Chronicles by Brock Thoene & Bodie Thoene?

And, nope, I haven't read A.D. Chronicles. I'm not a big Thoene fan. I'm not sure why. I read a couple of their books early on and didn't really enjoy them. I should try again...

I've heard of it, but never read it...
I love the Thoenes' books! Well, except for the A.D. Chronicles -- never could get into those, but several of my friends really like them. :)

I am reading Dying to Read by Lorena McCourtney and enjoying it so far.

I've been wanting to read Dying to Read but haven't found a copy yet, glad it's good!

Haven't read it yet. but I've heard that it is great! :)

Since you started it Sept 28, you probably already know how good it is:) I loved it and the 2nd one,

I think there is a third in the series, but can't remember what it's called.
Has anyone else read this Randy Alcorn series?

The Rook is the only one I own in the series so far, I haven't read it yet because I want to read the first one first.

Just won a copy of this one, haven't received it yet, but I can't wait to read it!

I agree with you, Kimberly;

And right now, I'm reading

I agree with both you and Kimberly on F. R.'s Mark of the Lion Series. I'm interested to know more about The Open Gates. Is it anything like Tessa Afshar's Harvest of Rubies? I loved Tessa's book.

He has a new series that comes out in November.

I'm not sure, Mesu. I haven't read Harvest of Rubies. Mainly, The Open Gates is strictly based on the biblical account of the prophet Daniel during the reigns of the kings Nabonidus, Belshazzar, Cyrus, and Darius. It's very detailed, though it was quite hard for me to get through the first almost-half of the book, as I'm not very interested in the battle strategem's the author described. But now it's starting to get better.

Thanks, Evy! I'll add it to my TBR list. It sounds a little like Day of War. His book on David's Mighty Men was heavy on battle scenes, and I found the story a little hard to engage until closer to the end. Thanks for the new title!
