Update!! Adele and I spent a lovely Christmas in Merida, Mexico. On Christmas Eve we visited the Uxmal Mayan Ruins (Amazeballs!) and then hunted for a cenote (I didn't know what this was until Adele showed me pictures, but they're beautiful fresh water springs that sprout from underground caves and such--made me think of The Moon Dwellers!). So this cenote was called X Batun and was waaaaay off the beaten path, to the point where we thought for sure we were lost and turkeys and chickens and stray dogs were marching around the car like wildlife on an African safari. Finally we got to a rusty old gate, paid our 100 pesos and got in. For most of the time we had the whole cenote to ourselves, it was beautiful, like swimming in a secluded paradise!
So then we went back to the Spanish family we were staying with and they were so sweet and invited us to have Christmas Eve dinner with them. Amazing! If anyone is ever going to visit Merida, let me know and I'll give you the contact details for this little bed and breakfast, the host is awesomesauce & wonderific!
OK, so that was a few things about my five days off from writing. I was only going through withdrawal for part of the trip, but now I'm back on the horse and writing at a 5,000+ word clip per day, working on the sequel to Fire Country, called Ice Country. 30,000 words in so should be ready for betas by mid-January.
And, of course, Fire Country is still on schedule for release on February 1st! Woot woot!

Aww thank you Tina! It was so nice spending more time with her WITHOUT thinking about writing lol. Normally we spend the whole day together which is amazing but my mind's elsewhere so often that it's not the same!

Will there also be a blog tour for fire country? and when will the cover be releashed?
I did, thank you :)
I've got to get together with Nic and Karla to plan the release, but there will definitely be something with bloggers involved so look out for the post under special events!! Can't wait!!

Sounds awesome! I am looking forward to it!
LOL only an hour later 9:25am, but normally I've written a couple thousand words by then :) Generally, I'm a morning writer and get in 4,000 by lunch and then another thousand or two after lunch before I stop for the day.

So you have finished Fire Country and are working on Ice Country...I was just curious if you had written Earth Dwellers or if that would be done after the country saga?

Great question, thanks for it :)
Because The Earth Dwellers will include characters from the Country Saga, I won't be working on it until the Country Saga is complete. That way I'll have a complete understanding of who the characters are, as sometimes they change and develop even as I write them. Also, the events in the Country Saga will lead up to The Earth Dwellers, so I'll have some plot acrobats to work out to make sure it all fits together. The Earth Dwellers will very much be a 4th book in BOTH the Dwellers Saga and the Country Saga. Hope that makes sense and even I am waiting with curiosity to see how it all comes out as I still have a lot of details to work out! Thanks again for the question :)

Lol!! Better wait till you read them all to judge, but I hope so! *fingers crossed, toes too, wishing upon every star out there that I don't screw this up* lol!

Lol honestly, I have no idea if I've ever seen that before. Anyone ever seen that? I hadn't really thought it but I guess it's pretty cool, it was definitely a bit of an Oprah 'Aha!' Moment when it popped in my head lol!! But in any case, thank you so much for the compliment, it means a lot to me :)

I know that Dark Towers, Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys, A Night in the Lonesome October
books had a few crossovers, but not even close to the level you are talking about.
You never know, at a future date they could be calling you the father of full-scale series crossovers :)
LOL, or it could be a complete disaster! I have some hard decisions coming out about POVs for the two series mixed into one ;) Sort of dreading it!

It sounds pretty awesome! You are an awesome writer I am sure you will make it work!

Thank you all for the encouragement, I'll do it for all of you!!
Just finished the final version of Fire Country tonight and the cover's almost ready woohoo!! ARCs are a coming!

I am so curious as how the cover will look like. Is it the same style as the dwellers series? or totally different? When will the cover reveal be?
Lol totally different I'd say. Less artsy but still dystopian I think. And I used a cover model for the first time ever but you can't see her face. We're skipping the big reveal again but I'll post on my blog and Facebook and in the group in the next few days :) Can't wait!!!

And wait, the 4th book for the 'Country' Saga will also be a 4th book for the 'Dwellers' series - did I read that right?
Thank you so much Chris, I'm glad it sounds good from the synopsis, hopefully you like the full book just as much!
You got it :) There will be a 4th book in The Dwellers Saga which will double as the 4th book in The Country Saga. Not sure exactly how I'll pull it together yet, but I've got some ideas :)

I've seriously never EVER heard of that before. What a treat for fans, but also from a marketing perspective, that is AWESOME! Way to go bud.

David, just wanted to let you know I am reading Moon Dwellers and although I just started it I can tell you are a good writer, everything flows, the dialogue is realistic, the story engrossing. This is a book I am going to love, I can already tell. I have read enough books to be able to tell very early on if the writer and the story are going to capture me and this one has. I really don't waste my time with books that don't. Now I am kicking myself for taking so long to read it and I can't wait to get to the next ones. I really know very little about where it will take me right now but I am excited with anticipation.
I will get back when I have finished it.
Awww, oh my gosh, aren't you a sweetheart! Thanks so much for this little message, it made my day!! I'm so incredibly glad you're enjoying it and I hope you continue to like it and the series. I will warn you, I wrote the series with the intention of it being a series of books with lots of secrets to be revealed over the course so you won't get it all in the first book lol! Happy reading!!
