UPDATE! Despite feeling and acting somewhat like a lazy bum over the last few weeks, I've managed to churn out the first 50,000 words of my new YA dystopian novel, Fire Country. It took me a couple of weeks but I've finally worked out the growing pains that you always get when you start a new series, and now I'm in a bit of a rhythm, so I expect to have a first draft for my beta readers later this month!!

And although I don't yet have a cover to reveal for The Sun Dwellers, I can confirm a release date of November 30th woot woot!

Now to more fun news ;) Adele and I are on Isla Majueres in Mexico at the moment. It's a beautiful island off the coast of Cancun. It has a really small town feel and doesn't feel touristy at all. The locals are very nice and we feel like we're making friends already. And the food? AMAZING! We're probably enjoying that the most.

We've got another 10 days here and then it's on to Playa del Carmen through New Years!

Lol I really need to sit down a write a synopsis for it and get it up on GRs. I can't remember if I've posted anything yet, but it's about a dystopian tribe living in a changed world where the sky is red, winter is hotter than hell and full of sandstorms. Summer's even hotter and fires rage across the desert-like country. Wild beasts called Killers roam the countryside.

Due to toxic air, life expectancies are low, in the low 30s and the only way the tribe can survive is by forcing women to procreate when they turn 16 and every 3 years thereafter. It is their duty as Bearers.

Siena, at 15yo, is a Youngling, soon to be a Bearer, when she starts hearing things about another tribe of all women, called the Wild Ones. They are known to kidnap Youngling girls before the Call, the ceremony in which they are given a husband with whom to bear children with.

At the same time, she learns of strange things happening in Confinement, the tribe's prison. Is there a conspiracy with their neighbors in ice country, or does Siena's father, who's the head of the tribe, really have the tribe's best interests at heart?

Hope that piques your interest! That was off the top of my head. The story is somewhat complicated with a few twists and turns so it'll be a challenge to boil it down for the synopsis lol :)

David, that sounds awesome! I'm very excited for that one. It kinda reminds me of Not the storyline so much as some of the settings. I love the idea of the Hot, sandstorm backdrop. It really creates a cool picture in your head :) Good luck with it. Can't wait to read...

I saw it twice already. I went to the marathon and got to see the movie at 10:00 pm that night. we got cool stuff when we got there. they also did Twilight trivia to win prizes. and guess what!!! i won! 2 free passes to any AMC theater. a free soda and a free popcorn! we used it already today. yes today! I went again today with my husband.

Then I'm going again tomorrow morning with Brooke!! Woot woot!!!!

I'm sure a few more times. For some reason all my friends want to see it with yours truly!

So last night I was meeting someone in Barnes and Noble. Just to hang out. A little background...we never met. We live in the same community. I posted on a FB page we have here for the women in our community if anyone wanted to meet me at B&N. So she responded that she would.

OK, so here's the funny part. She texted me when she got there. "Where are you?"

I texted back "Upstairs by the elevator."

Now I'm sure you could all guess what section of the store I was in. ;)

She comes over to me and says hello. Then she starts looking at the books on the shelves and she asks me. "You have a teenage daughter?"

LOLOLOLOLOL It was so funny!!! I just said...."No, I'm looking for me."

She started laughing too. OH boy! It was great. OK. Gotta go now.
