Dustin (dustincorreale) While checking out on Audible, picking up Fall of Hyperion, I glanced over at the "You might also like" sidebar, and among the other Hyperion books, I just happened to notice Tigana, the next S&L book. "Oh how coincidental!" I thought, then I looked below it and noticed The Lies of Locke Lamora also listed. "Hm, I wonder" I wondered, and clicked through to the page for Hyperion. In the "People who bought this also bought..." section, tucked in with the rest of the series, is The Magicians. Lies of Locke shows up on the Magicians page, and Tigana shows up again on Fall of Hyperion's.

Certainly it's possible that these are just linked by all being SciFan and having a similar readership (listernship, whatever), but it seems a bit too specific for me to pass it off as coincidence.

Are we making waves in the background math behind Audible?

Aloha | 919 comments I'm not surprised. Audible is doing whatever it can to get more customers. They're even showcasing reader's reviews by having a section that highlights them.

I'm a big audio fan and have been with Audible since they started. I pair eBook with audio if I can. I don't usually differentiate between audio and reading. In fact, I soak in information better via audio. I think by now, my auditory cortex is dense with highly developed cells. Now, I'm rethinking that I need to highlight the audios to promote sites like Audibles, since they have affected my ability to "read" enormously.
